In the spring of 2010, LOST will release the Lost Surfskate (skateboard).

Each model and concept of this board is unique, designed and "shaped" by Matt based on various models of Mayhem surfboards from LOST.

The outline and rocker are based on popular models such as the ROCKET and RNF, designed by Matt's shaping program, and the new Scorcher.

The deck's characteristics are designed for surf-style carving and thrashing.

Rocker camber, concave and kick tail

Mayhem tested and custom designed.

All decks feature kingpin carving tracks,

It also comes with original LOST wheels designed by Mayhem.

The board graphics are the same as the actual Lost surfboards.

Comes with die-cut grip tape and a surprise.

Since its release in the US, this surf skate has received a tremendous response.

Here's an explanation from Mayhem:

By Real Surf Company LOST

Please see below for a summary of the new surfskate business model.

Paul "Professor" Schmidt is the manufacturer of Lost Surf Skates.

Paul, as you probably know, is one of the most influential and experienced skateboard designers and manufacturers in existence.

He founded Schmidt Steck, which designed the first double kick skateboard in the 80's.

In the 90s, Paul was the principal founder of brands such as New Deal and ELEMENT.

He currently owns two production facilities and also has a prototype shop, where I (Mayhem) previously studied design.

Lost Surfskate decks are produced in Paul's factory.

The material is similar to what most Element (and other brands) use. The trucks we use are carving trucks with a 45 degree kingpin angle.

High performance and famously known as the first "carving" truck.

We will be using the "Randall" carving track.

The wheels are also made in the same factory where all longboard companies stamp out their Race Formula and Durameter wheels.

I (Mayhem) am personally responsible for all deck outline, rocker and concave design (based on my surfboard shaping program).

We are not a long boat, but we are trying to create a new category called "Surfskate".

We create each deck in our own unique mold.

First, we designed the two wheels.

Black Ship. This is a crossover carving park wheel.

The other is the Scorcher, a large, soft racing wheel that's especially good for street riding.

Regarding track selection.

I have ridden all of the following trucks with a variety of wheels and decks: Randall Paris, Camino, Carver, Revenge, Thrasher and all Gullwing/Sector 9 versions.

We decided to use the Randall brand.

Because some have the same performance and quality as others but are cheaper.

After doing some research, I (Mayhem) found that surfing is inspired by skateboarding.

However, today's surf skate brands are nothing more than skateboard companies that say, "Let's try surfing."

Unlike typical skateboards, LOST has succeeded in developing a skateboard that surfers need for surfing.

Lost is not a longboard company. We are not a skateboard company.

Don't forget we are a real, core, authentic surf company!
