DRIVER3.0...the ultimate driver machine.
This is the culmination of two years of fine-tuning from the Driver 2.0 by our elite-level team riders. Since the launch of the Driver 2.0 in 2019, our team has constantly evolved, striving to always have an edge when competing with the world's best surfers. The design adjustments represent a progression and evolution from the Driver 2.0; it's no longer the same model. It was unveiled to the public at the 2022 "Stab In The Dark" event, where Jack Robinson narrowly missed out on the win, coming in second. Further refinements have since made the Driver 3.0 an exceptional, ultimate driver machine.
Nearly every top athlete surfer we work with has claimed the 3.0 version is their best board by early 2022. Griffin Colapinto rode the DRIVER3.0 to two WCT wins in Portugal and El Salvador on the 2022 WSL World Tour.
The DRIVER3.0 is a direct replica of the magic board that Griffin Colapinto used to win two World Tour titles.
The response and praise from all our talented team riders, veterans like Kolohe Andino, Yago Dora, and Ian Crane, as well as younger riders like Eli Hanneman, Crosby Colapinto, and Cole Haushmand, has been so positive that we decided it was time to move on and make the new Model 3.0.
The DRIVER3.0 is an evolution of its predecessor, the Driver2.0, with a slight tail rocker and a slightly deeper single concave, incorporating a double concave at the rear. More concave means more lift and rail line rocker. More lift means faster speed. More rail rocker means more carve, resulting in tighter radius turns. The outline hip line between the feet has been narrowed from the front stance to the back stance, adding grip and driving performance and stability. The tail design allows for hard pushes under the back stance at a pro level, and is designed to give you confidence when surfing in the pocket.
To balance these design elements—updated tail rocker, narrowed hip outline, and Hyperrail Rocker—we added a little more. The forward outline width and forward foil volume provide more forward volume for front-foot glide and a more responsive drive. The DRIVER3.0 is thicker along the stringer line (for paddle power and drive) for faster speeds, but the high-angle "Vee" deck removes volume to maintain control at speed, allowing for rounded, thin rails for more control.
Griffin rides a 5'11 x 28.50 liters. Yago rides a 5'11 and 6'0 x 29.50 liters. Kolohe and Crosby fall somewhere in between, similar lengths but with a 29.00 liter capacity. The DRIVER3.0 is a product of high-level professional surfing. It was developed based on input, testing, and feedback from LOST teams and numerous developers around the world.
The DRIVER series' competitive success, including victories on the World Tour and in the Olympics, is proven by the highest-level surfers in the U.S. and around the world. The dimensions and volume have been slightly increased from previous years, providing top pros with a responsive ride that maintains drive and glide. At the same time, the boards offer increased paddle speed, increased ease of riding, and more forgiveness, allowing casual surfers to ride the same board the pros ride.
The latest addition to LOST's masterpiece DRIVER series, "DRIVER 3.0," will finally be released in Japan in spring 2023 for those seeking professional-level high-performance surfing.
