The ROCKET model was the model that sparked the mini board boom around the world. In an era before social media, surf magazines around the world featured the LOST ROCKET, and surfers from around the world contacted LOST in search of this revolutionary design.
This is a classic in the history of hybrid surfboard design, imitated by shapers all over the world. Its wide outline, flat rocker, and ROCKET tail influenced subsequent surfboard designs.
This model has been reissued with a modern shape element, allowing the surfer to accelerate like a ROCKET when they stand up, reach high speeds, and ride the waves aggressively, cutting through them.
More than a decade ago, before mass media dominated the surf market, before sci-fi, ghosts, and monsters, there was the LOST ROCKET. It was a time before our brains were corrupted by fake news, hoaxes, and stealth marketing. The LOST ROCKET became an iconic mini board in the surfing world through word of mouth. More than a decade after its initial release, LOST has brought the ROCKET back to life for you to ride! MAYHEM has redesigned it for a new generation and for those who remember it fondly. The result is the ROCKET REDUX!
While retaining elements of the magical performance of the original ROCKET design, the extended tail radius and added entry rocker allow for instant down-the-line action and playful turns. The deep concave created by the rail rocker, combined with the straight center stringer line, gives you the lift and liveliness that are unique to the ROCKET design. The wide tail and parallel outline provide bullet-like speed and plenty of hold.
The rocket tail adds stability and aids back foot entry and control. The new ROCKET REDUX stays true to the original ROCKET design, but we've updated what we've learned by adjusting the rail shape and rocker curve to deliver more serious performance. It's fast, precise, playful, and fun to ride. The ROCKET REDUX is, of course, fast to paddle, easy to ride, and ready for speed and pocket turns every day. It doesn't need to be a good wave; it's a fun board for everyone.
