Unlike the clear skies of yesterday,
Rainy weather in San Clemente
San Clemente Northside Pier
San Clemente Southside Pier
The waves here looked good and it was empty, so we decided to go surfing.
The board I rode was
5'8" BEACH BUGGY.
After that, we went to the LOST surfboard factory.
Beautifully finished airbrush boards
Mayhem is shaping the surfers' boards every day from morning until night as the WCT season begins.
In the midst of his busy schedule, Mayhem showed us the prototype fins they had designed for Japan.
Since this is still in development testing, the fin image area will remain black.
Today I also went to SHAW and Hydroflex in Oceanside.
I met with the CEO, Richie, and asked him if he could create a special hydroflex board that would suit the wave conditions in Japan.
We were given a tour of the factory, where photography is prohibited, and the production process of the Hydroflex board was explained to us.
We started the project by having them show us all the board materials, suggesting several material combinations and board designs for the Japanese market, and having them create a prototype model.
