Now available at Love Surf! LOST "BLACK DART" has arrived from San Clemente! Please come and see the impressive real thing! The custom boards that customers ordered when Mayhem came to Japan in September have now been completed and arrived from San Clemente. These boards are currently stored in our Love Surf store, so if you come by, you can see them in person! We'll show you the photos below, but the actual texture is far better than it looks in the photos! If you are considering custom ordering a LOST "BLACK DART" surfboard, please take a look and use this as reference. Please come and see it before your custom order arrives to pick it up. LOST "BLACK DART" surfboard mark. Semi-gloss finish! The paint splatters all over the place, which makes it even cooler! Grab rails are also available, Elevator wing is not available. It is possible to insert a pin line of a specified color on the bottom side. Please feel free to use the free "Luvsurf" laminated logo. The color boundary is a finish unique to "BLACK DART"! We have posted sample color designs for you to refer to when placing a custom order. You can choose a semi-transparent "TINT" finish that allows you to see the carbon lines, or a solid "OPAQUE" finish that completely hides the carbon lines, so please specify when placing your custom order. You can also combine these two. High performance stringerless EPS foam interior. The deck is made of a special unidirectional carbon deck cloth that is strong yet flexible, wrapped in epoxy resin. Flexibility is outstanding! The board is also light and strong. The BlackDart surfboard construction is It was developed by Florida-based Epoxy composites mastermind Drew Bagget. …Lost Surfboards has worked with Drew to fine-tune and license the technology. The BlackDart is built using a virgin 1.5 stringerless EPS core. The most eye-catching feature is that the entire deck is wrapped in our custom-made carbon/S-glass hybrid "BlackDart" material. This custom carbon fiber is run unidirectionally from nose to tail with S-glass fiber running across the width (rail to rail). It's not the traditional two-way carbon wave you've seen up until now. This material (i.e. this board) has nothing to do with stiffness. This material allows the board to snap and buckle much more easily than boards made with traditional bi-directional carbon fiber fabric. This board still offers the quick reaction, high response and memory benefits of carbon fiber. There are no problems with the stiffness of the two-way carbon wave. The second advantage is the hybrid cross. You can create beautiful color combinations using tints and pigments. The advantage is that it allows for a very good contrast between the S-glass fibre and the carbon. The carbon covers the entire deck and wraps fully around the rails, but not all the way to the bottom. This will keep the board from becoming too stiff. Only a light 4 oz cloth is applied to the bottom. The bottom is made of two layers of 4 oz. cloth, This results in a long-lasting board that is less likely to dent even with daily use. "Ten years ago, I was using a board with two-way carbon fiber tape and experienced a buckle that was as sharp as a samurai sword. Myth Busters (a program that investigates dubious rumors such as urban legends whispered on the streets of America) attached both unidirectional and 2x2 fiber to plywood and hit it with an exploding ball.The 2x2 fiber shattered into pieces, but the unidirectional fiber caused the ball to bounce. "When I saw that, it was like, 'Eureka, all the carbon fiber material we use is either single or woven...'" said Drew Baggett. "Nate Yeomas won the San Diego Pro-Am aboard a 5'8" V3 Rocket equipped with BlackDart technology. The board features a stringerless blank, unidirectional carbon fiber across the entire deck, and comes in two tint colors. Nate calls it "the fastest board he's ever ridden." When we first created and promoted the Black Darts, we had no real desire or intention for it to be a competition board, but Nate showed us that this was not the case."
