Competitors around the world request the SUB-DRIVER as their quiver (weapon) for the diverse and unpredictable waves of the WQS (World Qualifying Series). The first development was for Kolohe Andino in 2010. In 2011, Kolohe rode the SUB-DRIVER model during the WCT qualifying season, winning all five WQS events on the SUB-DRIVER model. In 2011, Mick Fanning noticed. It's now a famous story that Kolohe took his old, discarded SUB-DRIVER model from LOST and used it to win many heats in the lower pro class. Mick Fanning later said, "It completely changed my perception of what a small wave competition board should be." He used the Sub-Driver model multiple times on the World Tour while winning the World Title in 2013. Since then, not only has the design gained more attention around the world, but more and more surfers have been riding it with teams and other surfers achieving great results in competition. We still make many of these "SUB-DRIVER" models to meet their needs. Originally, this was a "DRIVER" model that had its nose and tail hand-cut by about 1 inch, redrawing the outline and shaping it. As a result, the "SUB-DRIVER" model has a wider outline and less rocker than the "DRIVER" model. The most noticeable features are the slightly wider than average nose, the spiral (circular) VEE at the fin that extends to the tail, and the wide hip tail block. The Sub-Driver's wide nose and tail provide stability when landing in the air. The wide hip at the front of the fin creates a more parallel outline with less curvature for driving. The prominent hip (bump) at the fin provides a pivot point for the surfer when turning tight and powerfully. The wide tail block provides stability even in small waves at slow speeds. The design has evolved to allow for shorter boards than originally intended. The rail rocker transitions from a modest single concave at the front of the board underfoot to a double concave at the rear fin, continuing into a spiraling vee at the tail. The double concave extends to the tail in sufficient volume to provide lift and help maintain speed and flow, even in underpowered waves. Expert surfers describe the board as "pushing back" even in small waves. The SUB-DRIVER model isn't just for pros, it's also the perfect design for the average surfer, with the longer, slightly larger "BRO" dimensions. Even in small waves, the short, rounded outline design provides plenty of drive, making it easy to catch waves and build speed. The SUB-DRIVER model in the Performance Series is designed for small wave beach breaks and comes in two sizes: PRO Dimension for competitions and BRO Dimension for general surfers. The waves were small during the NSA All Japan Championship contest held in Toyohama, Shizuoka Prefecture. It was held at three points: A, B, and C. Only point A was broadcast live, so viewers probably thought the waves were small. The waves at points B and C were even smaller and the quality of the waves was poor. At points B and C, AM rider Hiroki rode PLACEBO's GOBLIN to the top 24 in the senior class for 35-44 year olds, advancing to round 4, just before the quarterfinals. While the other competitors were using flimsy boards and only managed to get 1 or 2 points, like beginners, just by taking off, I took advantage of the GOBLIN's super-fast takeoff performance to rip from the first turn and get a string of high scores. Hiroki was not bothered by small waves, and he was quick to take off, run, and move. Apparently, he stood out so much that other players repeatedly asked to see his board. We did it! Just before the day before we left for Toyohama Beach in Shizuoka Prefecture, where the main event of the All Japan Championships was to be held, After receiving this board, Ichi bought stickers and deck pads for his sponsors. Quickly replace it, I took a test ride on the same day and felt it was a magic board, so I decided to use it in the contest. For nearly 30 years, we've been designing and building surfboards based on feedback and direction from our team and fellow riders. From the early days of LOST, when we designed for the local, slick surfers in San Clemente, to the current wave of World Champions, we've worked with some of the best surfers in the world. Competitive high performance surfing is the most important surf scene we are always paying attention to. With the arrival and popularity of modern models, such as the "RNF model" and "TRI-FISH model" of the 1990s, one of our models was the high-performance surfing model "Pro-Formance Shortboard." Over the course of their nearly 30-year history, LOST has led the way in surfboard design around the world, setting and changing trends, and even releasing hybrid designs with FISH. We focus on designs that are more enjoyable for the average surfer, as well as high performance designs for professional surfers who surf every day. And we are not losing out to other top competing brands. That history includes working with top pros like Chris Ward, Corey and Shay Lopez, Andy and Bruce Irons, Shane Beschen, Taj Burrow, Julian Wilson, Kolohe Andino, Carissa Moore, and Taylor Wright, among many others. We are committed to providing the best possible equipment to the best surfers. Surfboard designs come and go in fads, but the best surfing in the world continues to be modern high-performance surfing and pointed-nose thrusters. He has been making surfboards for about 30 years. We are re-releasing the Pro-Formance series from Lost Surfboards. Lost "PRO-Performance Series" The three models in the PRO-Performance Series, "DRIVER," "SUB-DRIVER," and "POCKET ROCKET," which are ridden by LOST Surfboard's top team, have been completely rebuilt with updates to their form and size. The three models were created with careful consideration of "what is currently on the feet of top team athletes," and are based on the "magic" board data of the top surfers who ride them. These boards are built and released using the same proven performance materials that they use on their competition boards. The lightweight, strong and flexible blanks, developed in collaboration with ARCTIC, are combined with a new three-ply, black-dyed basswood stringer for a very flexible feel, and are exclusive to the PRO Performance Series. The foam is glassed using 4 oz "S" glass, making it a lighter and stronger glass specification while still being made of POLYESTER. With the release of the "PRO-Performance Series," we also developed a new carbon tail patch design with a new liner fade (a linear fade out). The design was based on a study of where the heel and toes of a surfer in a back stance are positioned when foot pressure is applied, and was designed to precisely increase strength. The width of the carbon fiber stretched front to back has been minimized to promote flexibility. The logo marks for each model have been simplified by removing the illustrations that were previously used and replacing them with a font reminiscent of Formula 1 racing. Additionally, for the "PRO-Performance Series," we have created a new logo, slightly smaller than the LOST Planet mark that evokes high-end, high-performance inspiration. The three models, "DRIVER", "SUB-DRIVER" and "POCKET ROCKET", Two sizes are available: the "PRO Dimension" for professionals, and the "BRO Dimension" for general surfers, which provides buoyancy so that anyone can ride it. The PRO Dimension is based on the 5'10" to 6'0" width size ridden by Kolohe Andino and Griffin Colapinto. Both are over 6'6" tall and weigh over 170 lbs, so they're well-muscled, not skinny. The shorter sizes are scaled down proportionally, so smaller surfers like Taj Burrow and Josh Kerr will fit in the 5'8" and 5'9" sizes. The "BRO Dimension" is a larger, more general-purpose board. It offers plenty of volume and balances all aspects of the design, making it more than just a bloated board. The rails are designed to blend in a thin rail design, hiding the bulk of the wider board while still allowing for the movement required for performance surfing. The "BRO Dimension" is designed to be ridden by surfers of all builds, making it an easy choice. In addition to the top three high-performance models of LOST surfboards, "DRIVER", "SUB-DRIVER" and "POCKET ROCKET", Based on the "Performance" aesthetic, all of the high-performance models released by Lost Surfboards over the past decade are also available to custom order.
