Demand for quad boards in Japan is still in its infancy, but in California, where the sport originates, demand is shifting from the neo-quad boom, which features four fins on a fish-style board template, to high-performance quads.

Tri-fins are good, but QUADs have different advantages than tri-fins.
QUADs with performance that can be used in competitions will likely be released one after another in the future.

I heard this story from someone who asked the owner of a surf shop they usually go to what QUAD was like, and was disappointed when he said, "I don't know because I've never ridden one yet." This means QUAD boards won't become popular. Apparently, new models from manufacturers that the shop carries aren't even available in stores. I feel a bit sorry for the club members.
