When Matt Archibald began surfing at age 11 in 1979, the world had no idea he would become one of the greatest surfers of all time. Inspired by Martin Potter, Archie and his group of young surfers from San Clemente followed suit, creating a completely unconventional style of surfing. At age 15 (his freshman year of high school), Archie quit school to become a professional surfer, appearing as a poster model for surf brands and showing no signs of a dull moment in his youth.
