"Hey Matt (Mayhem), I want a board for when the waves are really small or slow. Something really short but wide... but it's a kind of shortboard, so shape me a short board like a Danes board," Kolohe Andino said.
Kolohe gave Mayhem the challenge.
Like the Scorcher, the base is Lost's long-sail model, the SD2, with dimensions of 5'5" x 18.63" x 2.18" and a loosely adjusted entry rocker (bottom rocker at the nose). The single concave from the center to the rail lines on both sides is slightly shallower for drive, and the rocker is designed so that the wide tail leans left and right.
It's shorter, a little thicker, and wider than the Scorcher model.
It has the same performance as the Scorcher model, but with excellent speed performance in small waves.
The result is a board that allows for even tighter carving turns.
Kolohe calls this model the "trash can lid" because of its unique outline. We recommend choosing a board size that is 4-6 inches shorter than your high-performance board.
