This is a follow-up to yesterday's interview with Mayhem.

Kolohe was instrumental in bringing me back from competing shapes.
He helped me to keep my main focus.

Taj called me in January of this year and asked if I could fully commit to his requests and ideas.
I told him, if you can trust me, the answer is YES!

With Julian, he knows that whenever he calls, I will give him my all.
At his level, it's difficult to make a firm commitment to a request.

How much work do you typically do with pro surfers? Do you give them a lot of stock models to test?
Or do you design a special test board and shape it exactly to their needs?
I wonder. Usually, surfers all over the world who claim to be professional surfers sniff out my email address and phone number,
I'll order one or two.
Every once in a while, someone like Taj or Mick will try out one of my boards that someone else has (they test ride Kolohe boards) and ask me to incorporate what they feel into their own board.
I currently have four kids in my care who are like this, and if they weren't genuine LOST team riders (like Mason Ho, Chris Ward, etc.), I wouldn't give them a free board.

How can I buy the same boards that professional surfers use?
Professional boards are made to be lighter and more fragile than the boards you buy at the store, but if you say, "I want one with a team glass (ultra-lightweight) finish, even if it's as fragile as Kolohe," we can make it the same, so if you custom order a board with team glass, you can get the exact same board.
This is the best part about the "Custom Order Surfboard" system. You can customize it to the exact numbers you want, and it will even have my name written on it. Want to buy a racing car driven by a racing driver? That's it.

You have posted a lot of information on your website, including dimensions, specifications, and photos of boards you have customized for professionals. I think it's a lot more information than I see elsewhere. Many shapers worry that if they post their boards, others will copy them, but you believe that the finished product depends on the actual "shaping" technique, right?
Yes, that's right. Anyone can copy and cut out the length, width, thickness, and even outline.
But the flow of the curves and the combinations are magical. There's an old saying, and it's true.
The devil is in the details
