This is a report from the third day of the NIKE LOWERS PRO.
It rained heavily in San Clemente this morning, and the mist and dew remained throughout the morning, preventing any video shoots.
After the rain stopped and the sky brightened, we headed to the event venue.
This photo shows a temporary parking lot that is usually closed to cars but where you can park for $20 during the event.
There were about 200 cars parked there, so that's about $4,000. That's about $20,000 for five days.
Monkey, you also appeared in the live show.
The waves were smaller today, but they were well shaped and we were able to see a lot of tricks on one wave.
MAYHEM came to watch Corey's heat and was surfing uppercuts.
Today was a three-man heat and an undefeated all-around round, so the surfers showed off some aggressive surfing.
The first place winner will skip to the next round and move on to the ROUND of 16.
The second and third place will play in a ROUND of 24 Man-on-Man match.
Cory came in second so will be in the Round of 24 tomorrow.
Mayhem and Heat have a debriefing.
The Casey Curtis is a DRIVER 5-fin model.
Brett also had some good surfing, but he came in second, so he'll move on to the ROUND of 24 tomorrow.
Nate had a bad wave choice and finished third, so he'll be in the ROUND of 24 tomorrow.
After the event ended, Noah, who is sponsored by Nike, went to the peak to surf.
