HONDA『AMERICAN PRO SERIES』2012

EVENT #2 SEPTEMBER 28-29, 2012 HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA

This is the second event in a California surf contest that is contested over three points.
The winner of the previous EVENT #1 was Chris Ward.

Chucky also put in an effort to enter the competition.
He fought well and won the first round, but was defeated in the second round.

Chris was expected to win again this time, but he couldn't catch a good wave in the quarter finals.

He flew through the air as usual, but was unable to land successfully and was unfortunately defeated.

However, there is another player on the LOST team who is winning.
This is Ian Crane, a 17-year-old young player from San Clemente.

With the tail raised high, a sharp, high-speed air reverse rotation produces a high point in one shot.

In the semi-final, he also won with a combination of air reverse and sharp backhand turns.
On to the final!
I was cheering for him to win while filming his heat,

About 20 minutes into the 30-minute final heat,

He attempted this high-speed air reverse again, and injured his right ankle when he landed in the water...

During the final, he was injured and was unable to surf.

He looked so hurt that he couldn't walk by himself.

I ended up getting medical attention from a lifeguard.
So the result was fourth place.
I'm worried about Ian's injury, but I hope it's not serious.
