Here is a report from MAYHEM himself after the WT Portugal match.

Here is a report from MAYHEM himself after the ASP WT Portugal competition. Surfingmag.com features free surfing sessions with Kolohe, Taj, Andino and Farming. It was presented very nicely as a slide show. It's a feature on which boards were used, including boards that were not used in the actual heat. Taj loves his Whiplash-TB so much that he only rides his boards. Brett Simpson tied with Gabriel in round 3. The waves were clean but shorebreak. Brett challenged Medina to a one-on-one fight. This heat had the best small waves of the event. If Bread had landed a little better on the last air, I think I beat Gabriel, and that really changed the whole tournament. The second time, Brett was troubled by the fact that he had nearly lost to Gabriel in the previous three competitions (lower). But his surfing looked great on both occasions. Check out the analysis of this heat and see that Brett You can tell he's a California surfer with good form. Kolohe had a pretty good ride and seemed to be getting the hang of things. His highlight was defeating Taji (Ouch!) in two back-to-back contests. He managed to find some very difficult early tubes for most of the heat. In the R4 three-person heat, JJ and Gabby made a big F-side grab. He rotated in the air and earned over 9.5 points. Here he is jumping out of the wave in his R4. Letting go of the rail early and landing nose first on the lip It helps you get a high score. Taji was shocked by the two consecutive losses, "Damn you, young man! Maybe I should just retire... just kidding." Adriano tried out DHD in the early rounds, but about halfway through the event, Break the board and go back to get it to ride the Mayhem Board. A few other rounds went up on the Mayhem board. He also placed third in the lower division, placing third twice out of the three competitions. He was very good in R4 and Q-FINAL. Julian is ready to face Adriano in the semi-finals. This was the heat that offered the most intense performances of the competition. I think it was 19.57, or something like that. The night of our 25th anniversary party, when I got drunk, I gave him an F1Stub I'd made and he used it. Julian's full air without gloves in the semi-final. final. Julian caught the biggest wave of the heat, built it up, and figured out where to close it out, earning a 7.8 or so. Gabriel hit some lefts, landed some airs, and did some low-scoring moves and longer rides. But then he disappeared into a shallow tube, then reappeared and ripped. The judges weren't too thrilled when Julian caught a wave and disappeared into a completely timid tube rather than make three safe (for him) turns. The judges later awarded Julian a high point for his no-turn tube. Most people thought Gabriel won, but Julian did. Congratulations! JW, Gabriel, you have a lot more potential. And it was Mayhem.
