P1030835 Matt Wilkinson The water temperature is getting colder, so I'll be surfing in a seagull or full suit. P1030869 Brett Simpson Effective when the wetsuit covers your ankles. P1040009 Jordy Smith Except for athletes who must always display the leash sponsor's logo, It's not accurate, but over 90% of players do it. P1030900 Kelly Slater I rolled up my wetsuit and tied the leash around my ankle. The wetsuit is then placed over the leash. Please refer to Kelly above for the position where the cord comes out. IMG_1443 Adam Melling By doing so, * Provides a more secure fit and prevents the leash from getting twisted around the ankle. *Prevents the Velcro from coming off during hard wipeouts. WWW_5773 Mick Fanning This is not possible when surfing naked or when your wetsuit does not cover your ankles. Most skilled people know this and do it, so I encourage everyone to try to make it a habit. P1040042 Julian Wilson

"It looks good, and the leash won't get tangled!"

Also, replace the leash cord once a year. Many people stubbornly use dirty, faded leashes because they think it's wasteful, but this is dangerous. Velcro weakens over time and becomes more susceptible to peeling. If it comes off, the board will be washed away, causing trouble and putting other people in danger. If you think, "Oh, maybe I'm using too many old ones," please use this. http://www.luvsurf.co.jp/store/category/item/itemgenre/surfboard-accessories/leash-code/
