Quiver Killer
This board is an extension of our recently released and very popular Short Round model.
Many people, myself included, enjoy short rounds and it has become clear that short, relatively flat, fat, round boards are readily enjoyable in small waves, but they do have their limitations.
While in Bali this summer, I received a custom request for a round tail short round.
Local and visiting surfers wanted a board that suited the daily waves in Indonesia and beyond.
Having produced a few boards like this, I inevitably began to tweak the design further.
At this point, they have become so different that it is no longer appropriate to continue calling them by the same name.
We started with a short round, added a few inches to the length, added a modest amount of rocker throughout, and pulled the nose in just a little.
We also changed the tail to a rounded thumb tail to prevent the area around the front fin from becoming too narrow, and kept the overall outline and rocker line to a minimal and simple curve.
The surface area and volume remain sufficient for speed and feel lively, rather than minimal, crawling surf.
The rounded tail, narrowed nose area, and added rocker prevent the rail from getting too far in small waves, giving you control, making it easy to get into the pocket, and allowing for power surfing in powerful waves.It is designed for precise and sure-footed waves, but also for a wide range of free and easy waves.
Sticking to the SHORT ROUND theme, we've lengthened a chunky little board and given it a new logo - the Quiver Killer .
