This is a compilation of some of Kolohe Andino's best riding footage filmed during the 2016 WSL Quiksilver PRO on Australia's Gold Coast.
Please take a good look at the opening water shot to see how he shrinks his body and then makes a carving turn at the top, as this is an angle that you can't see in a land shot.
You use your whole body like a spring by bringing your knees up to your chest. If you can do this, you will be able to make a big turn at the top of the turn.
Don't miss the timing to start turning in the section before the wave rises. The key is to match the movement of the wave so that your turn is already finished when the wave rises.
Kolohe Andino's surfing has changed dramatically since he switched to
the Pocket Rocket . His movements have become sharper and faster. The changes he's made have been recognized worldwide.
His best result in a WSL competition was second place, but with the switch
