Mason's first signature model has been released! The "VOODOO CHILD"
Mason has also been active in WSL contests.
If anything, calling me a free surfer would be a better description.
Mason's signature model, the Voodoo Child, is a new relaxed rocker surfboard that glides and drives when controlled with the front foot, and is loose and quick when controlled with the back foot.
This model is easy to understand as it is Mayhem's modern version of an 80's surfboard design.
A slightly wide squash tail with retro lines.
The bottom has a single double concave, and the front fin is deepest, helping to generate speed. The nose tip is a "beak nose" that is also reminiscent of surfboard design from the 80's, giving the board a unique look.
The back foot area of the deck is a double concave deck designed by Mayhem. This is because Mason, as per the Ho family tradition, does not have a deck pad, so Mason's back foot is locked in and moves like a knife.
This board contains a hidden "curse mechanism" that cannot be conveyed in a photograph, and is part of Mayhem's shaping philosophy.
