This is a report on the 30th anniversary Southern California Japanese Surf Contest.

This is a report on the 30th anniversary Southern California Japanese Surf Contest. At Trestles Church in San Clemente, California The Southern California Japanese Surf Contest, with Love Surf as the main sponsor, was held. The waves were extremely small, about 1-3 feet (knee-high to waist-high), in the San Clemente area of California, about three weeks after the WSL tournament ended. The swells started coming in two days ago, and the set was held in double over waves. This historic tournament, now in its 30th year, saw over 150 entries. There are only three surf contests a year at Trestles. This is a rare surf contest where you can hold a surf contest in the best wave quality. There was wind and the conditions were tough for some classes, but we were able to see some great performances. Some people from Japan have adjusted their time off work to take part in this surf contest. It's increasing every year. There will also be a LOST surfboard test ride booth! SHAW KOBAYAHSI Why not try participating next year too?
