The coach is former WT athlete Mike Parsons.
He faced his junior, Griffin, in the quarter finals and lost there. The two of them didn't even fight for the waves, but instead focused 100% on surfing, which earned them praise. He beat his senior Kolohe in the quarter finals and was expected to win, but he came in second place.
