Videos and photos of Dane Reynolds riding the RNF-RETRO have been released!
This video is part of a project called "Acid Test" by the US web magazine STAB.
This project involves famous surfers riding boards that have no markings or shaper signatures and giving their impressions.
This time, Dane Reynolds was chosen.
In the past, Julian Wilson played that role and chose a board that wasn't sponsored by him as his number one choice, and Jordy Smith was also given the role and after riding a variety of boards, he realized that there were many boards that worked well for him and ended up changing his sponsor's board.
This time the plan was to ride the popular twin fin FISH board.
Dane Reynolds is from the generation that grew up watching LOST videos, so he owns an RNF model, and has publicly stated that if he could only own one surfboard, it would be the LOST RNF.
It's well known in the industry that he still has his own LOST "RNF" model in his garage, so if he used an RNF model it would be obvious that it was a MAYHEM board, so Mayhem shaped a different model, the "RNF-RETRO," for him.
