It's a question every surfer has probably wondered about.
When surfers surf, they use different movements with their fronthand and backhand, so why are surfboards contrasted?
A question that has long been a surfer's...

The answer that LOST SURFBOARD "MAYHEM" came up with is "
MAYSYM "!!!
Can you tell that it's different from the usual "MAYHEM" logo?

This new 2019 model, MAYSYM, is a special asymmetrical tail design that was born after years of research into how an asymmetrical tail works, with countless updates and the help of Kolohe, Griffin, Mason, Ian, Nate, Shaw, and LOST Japan, who tried it on boards of all sizes.

The board on the left is for regular stance and the board on the right is for goofy stance.

For normal surfers, turning on the front side is easier and more fine-tuned, as it is controlled with the toes, so the hook channel allows you to push the tail rail more to make a tight, straight turn on the inside, or to apply weight slowly and for a long time to make a big, long drive turn.

The heel side has a round tail.
The design makes it easier to make bottom turns on the backside, and allows for better rotation and easier, nimble board control than a symmetrical tail, which allows for top turns, lip action, and carving on the heel side.

By changing the shape of the left and right tails, we were able to increase the width of the tail area.
LOST's new model, MAYSYM, has a wide tail, which gives it the advantage of being able to maintain speed in small, powerless waves or slow sections of the waves.

MAYSYM Features
・The difference in tail shape affects left and right turns
- Flat rocker line for unstoppable riding
Agile and easy to operate
- Can be ridden with various fin settings
- Suitable for small waves and thick waves.
・A short, wide board suitable for intermediate riders
・Knee to head size recommended.

While regular asymmetrical boards have asymmetrical fin settings, this "Maesim" model is designed to be ridden with a regular 5-fin setting to eliminate the difficulty of riding and ensure that it can be enjoyed by a wide range of surfers when it is released to the market.

LOST SURFBOARD rider Mason Ho has an asymmetrical fin setup.
On the toe side (rocket tail side) and front, a MAYHEM fin size L (side fin foil) was attached, and a MAYHEM fin size M (side fin foil) was attached in the QUAD rear fin position.

When turning with the tail on the toe side, you can drive and gain speed, and when you do an air on the heel side, the size of the fin doesn't get in the way and you can take off higher, which feels great, and it seems that you can do not only airs but also slides, curves and lips without any problems!

You can enjoy riding the MAYSYM with a tri-fin like Kolohe, a quad like Nate and Shaw, or with two small XS-size fins on one side and two large L-size fins on the other like Mason, so please try out various fin settings.
