Hello, I'm Kohei, a staff member.
This is a test drive report of "THE RIPPER," which is one of the new models released in 2024 that I personally wanted to drive the most.
I'm sure there are many people who are interested in this, so please use this as a reference when purchasing!

I am 168cm and 65kg and the dimensions of the ``THE RIPPER'' I used were 5'9 x 19.50 x 2.40 29.50cl, and the fin setting was FCSⅡ ``MB PC CARBON'' L size in a quad setting!
Personally, I think it would have been better to go down one size.
By the way, the SUB DRIVER 2.0 is 27cl, the MICKS TAPE is 30.5cl, and the RNF'96 that I use as a mini-mid is 34cl.

The first point where "THE RIPPER" was ridden was a certain point in southern Chiba, which has recently become popular due to its well-defined terrain.
On the day, well-shaped waves were breaking at chest to shoulder height, but people gathered at the peak and it was a bit crowded.
The first thing I noticed when I paddled out was that even though it was a short board with a pointed nose, which I haven't ridden much recently, I was able to paddle smoothly and stably without any discomfort.
I've ridden shortboards with a buoyancy size before, but it had a good sense of stability inherited from the RAD RIPPER.
*I got in the water in a hurry, so I don't have any photos of the waves. Sorry.

And the takeoff speed was almost the same, probably because the ``THE RIPPER'' was one liter larger than the ``RAD RIPPER'' I own, but it was easy to catch waves and I was able to take off without any trouble at all!
but!
On the first run, the waves weren't too bad, but the backboard wouldn't move after takeoff, causing me to lose speed and get caught in the wave...

From the second run onwards, I corrected the position of the front paws, and the RIPPER's true performance was revealed as it accelerated as if to make up for the loss of speed in the first run!
Even the backhand, which I'm not good at, was executed smoothly in two actions!
If you compare "THE RIPPER" and "RAD RIPPER", it's obvious that despite being 2 inches longer and 1 cl more powerful, the performance is significantly improved!
This time I rode with a quad setting, but although it depends on the wave conditions, I felt that a thruster would be a better fit for "THE RIPPER," so next time I'd like to try riding with a thruster!

Based on the world's best-selling RAD RIPPER, the new model for 2024, THE RIPPER, has been updated to be a more aggressive model at the request of Kolohe Andino. While retaining the user-friendly aspects of the explosively popular RAD RIPPER, it appears to have evolved into a more modern, standard high-performance model that enables aggressive surfing.
If you are riding the RAD RIPPER and want to make turns with deeper drive or sharper lip action, then we recommend THE RIPPER!
