After years of research and development, it has evolved into 3.0.
This is MAYHEM's latest design performance step-down board for high speed and power surfing even in small waves.
The Sub Driver series' gentle tail rocker, combined with a concave and spiral vee on the bottom and rounded rail lines, is a combination that works in small waves. The Sub Driver series has proven timeless and unmatched over the years.
The SUB DRIVER Original and 2.0 have long been staple quivers for amateur, WQS, and Challenger Series competitors. Ever since a young Kolohe Andino used them to storm the amateur and QS rankings during his decade-plus career on the World Tour, they have been the go-to quiver for small wave performance for team and non-team competitors alike.
A long-time favorite of average surfers and countless pro surfers on both the East and West Coasts in the USA. A true high-performance shape, not a fishy or hybrid. From subpar to average waves, this performance shortboard lets you continue to surf at a level you can be proud of.
Over the last 3-4 years, refinements and feedback have allowed us to evolve the foil, bottom rounding, outline rails and rocker to enable a new generation of surfers to tackle classic small waves.
Riders like Cole Huschmand and Cade Matson relied on the swallowtail Sub Driver to qualify for the Wild West. Brazil's Michael Rodrigues and East Coast powerhouse Michael Dunphy also ripped through the contest scene aboard the swallowtail Sub Driver, as did OG rider Kolohe Andino.
Based on rider feedback on the swallowtail SUB DRIVER and the large number of custom orders we've received from pros around the world, we knew it was time to release an updated swallowtail design, 3.0.
The adjusted roundness of both the rail line and outline makes the SUB DRIVER 3.0 a highly maneuverable board.
The gentle tail rocker, ample width and well-calculated concave allow you to pick up speed quickly.
It's great for when other performance boards don't work and is designed to ride 1-2 inches shorter and slightly wider than the DRIVER3.0 or 3.0 STUB DRIVER.
