So how exactly do the WSL's Vissla CT Shaper Rankings work? Designed to celebrate and recognize the surfboard builders and craftsmen who create the equipment used by the world's best surfers, the Vissla CT Shaper Rankings are a mixed-gender ranking system that recognizes the shapers and surfboard builders who create boards for the world's best surfers. Starting with the first event of the season at Pipeline and ending with the final regular season event of the year at Cloudbreak, points are awarded to each shaper based on the results of surfers who reach the quarterfinals or higher. After that, shapers receive the same points as the surfers riding their boards. The winner is announced at the end of the regular season, before the start of the WSL Finals.
WSL and Vissla announced that the prize for the top Shaper was a day's rental of the Surf Ranch Wave Pool. For the second year in a row, Lost shared in the good fortune by treating all 60+ staff members to a day of surfing perfect waves in California's Central Valley.
