Why is the "SMOOTH OPERATOR" so popular with so many surfers?
I've come to realize this again!
"SMOOTH OPERATOR" has been a hit with many surfers and continues to sell well.
It's popular not only with shortboarders, but also with longboarders who want to move their surfboard more, and is being purchased by surfers of all styles and levels!
This time I rode the SMOOTH OPERATOR in the 36.55cl size, which is 6'4" and is in the usual Japanese conditions of waist to stomach, chest and shoulders, and head, but I was once again struck by why it has continued to sell so well!
I was able to understand.
I usually ride a surfboard that is around 30cl, so naturally I paddle very quickly and can take off even when the waves aren't quite steep yet, which completely changes my position when waiting for waves!

After taking off, just standing up will allow you to gain speed, and even in sections where you would be left behind even if you pumped like crazy on a shortboard, just by moving your standing position on the surfboard you can ride all the way to the inside!
Depending on the wave quality, the surfing is very relaxed and smooth and feels great!
The KIRI-FLEX material, which is only available in Japan, has excellent flex and you can clearly feel your speed increasing with each push. Compared to a certain brand's mid-length board that is often compared to the "SMOOTH OPERATOR," the outline is sharper, the board is not wider, and the rail ends are thinner (especially in the tail area), so the board moves very easily. Even those who normally ride shortboards will be very satisfied with the athletic performance!

After riding the SMOOTH OPERATOR, I thought that if surfers who normally use shortboards were to be a little more flexible in their riding style and thinking when riding the SMOOTH OPERATOR, they would be able to dramatically increase the number of waves they could ride, making it easier for fans to enjoy surfing, and that this model would teach them a new kind of fun in surfing that is a little different from what they have experienced before.

Previously I rode the "DOUBLE DART" and this time I rode the "POLYESTER KIRI-FLEX", but even though it's the same model, the ride feels quite different depending on the material, and I enjoyed being able to see the unique characteristics of each.
