Hello, I'm Kohei, a staff member.
I've been interested in the PLACEBO 5'8" RAD DIABLO for a while now, so I've been riding it and would like to share my impressions with you!

I got on at Chitose Point in the southern Chiba area.

The wave conditions were thigh to waist high with sets up close to the chest, the wind direction was unstable but weak throughout the day and the surface was relatively good, but there were many early waves that were a bit damper, so at best the conditions were good for short rides.

The PLACEBO 5'8" RAD DIABLO used by a 168cm, 62kg board is 27.5cl, while the all-round model I normally use is around 28cl, so the CL value is relatively low. However, the PLACEBO uses the one-of-a-kind FLEXLITE technology, which gives the board a feeling of buoyancy greater than the CL value, resulting in greater stability and faster paddling than usual.

Everyone is curious about the speed of takeoff...
I was surprised in a good way!
PLACEBO's ``RAD DIABLO'' is based on LOST's ``RAD RIPPER,'' so it's extremely fast!

The secret to its fast take-off and paddling performance is the nose volume made possible by the ``semi-beak nose'' and the ``semi-flat deck'' which leaves volume throughout the surfboard, clearly resulting in a stable paddle that is less likely to wobble.

After taking off, the unique gliding performance of the DIABLO series, which has been passed down through generations, allowed us to ride at speeds that were impossible given the conditions that day, and we were able to get through sections that would normally be impossible to get through, allowing for a long ride full of action!

And what surprised me the most this time was the technology of ``FLEXLITE-ULTIMATE II''!

I've always loved the high strength and light weight of the PLACEBO surfboard, the fact that it doesn't discolor in the sun, and the fact that it's gentle yet highly resilient, effectively converting it into speed. I've loved the unique high-performance technology and have used various models over the years...

The original EPS core, developed exclusively for PLACEBO and adopted this year, and the effects of the carbon allow the surfboard to flex more than ever before, resulting in increased speed due to the rebound, and there was a clear improvement in performance!

Compared to LOST's "RAD RIPPER," which is currently extremely popular and most sizes are only available by reservation, PLACEBO's "RAD DIABLO" is a little sharper, and although the materials are different, it is also more agile and I felt it was an all-round model that could be enjoyed by users of a wide range of levels.

"RAD DIABLO" is a friendly placebo that can be enjoyed by people of all levels, inherited from "RAD RIPPER".
