Happy to announce that Donald Brink @donaldbrink and I, MAYHEM, took #1 in the latest @stab #electricacidsurfboardtest . Thanks to Mick Fanning @mfanno for his incredible surfing and the way he brought his experience to our collaborative board. This has been a special process, and working with Donald has been amazing.
A custom, collaborative surfboard experiment. We approached it with a focus on performance above all else. The collaboration worked well, it was all about pleasing the talented surfers.
Donald trusted my insistence on building it using my tested and proven rocker, outline, bottom surface, and basic "MAYHEM chassis." I used the LOST #Maysym model as a starting point for the base. We discussed and collaborated, adding forward outline and thickness to keep it as short as possible, specifying fin placement, rail volume, and finish sanding. I added many of the design details, including an asymmetrical tail, beaked nose, and air spray.
