It can turn any crappy wave into a 30+ point wave! The SHONAN WARRIOR is definitely a model you'll want to have in your car.
Hello, I'm Kohei, a staff member. When I went to southern Chiba the other day, the wave information said it would be high to medium high, but the swell was forecast to gradually weaken, so I loaded my SHONAN WARRIOR, which I've been using a lot lately, into my car and set off. When we arrived at the spot, the size had decreased as predicted, and the size of the Momo Tama set was just about the same as the chewy one... The shoulders were not coming together easily and even after taking off, the board would just slide a little to the side, so without hesitation I chose the SHONAN WARRIOR from the surfboards I had in the car! There were about 30 surfers at the point, but they were all concentrated at the peak where there were a few more waves and the shape was still better, so I chose a vacant position a little away from the peak, and it turned out to be the right decision. *Sorry for the grainy image. It was too much of a hassle to walk up close... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq8InaCoMt4&list=TLGGE_eGtv04cF0wMjAzMjAyMg Since I started on the SHONAN WARRIOR, I was able to ride even the crappy waves off the peak without worrying, and even in sections where a shortboard would have ended it, I was able to ride all the way to the inside without stopping, and of course, in sections with shoulders I was able to perform shortboard-like actions. I tried various fin settings, including tri, quad, twin, and twin stabilizer, but the ``MR/twin stabilizer'' worked best for me. [ap_show_item 9628] [ap_show_item 9584] [ap_show_item 80257] The SHONAN WARRIOR can be used in larger waves, but it is often used in conditions where the shoulders are not too stiff, so the MR/Twin Stabilizer, which provides moderate hold while also having excellent rotation, is our top recommended fin setting! If you have a wide surfboard but find it a bit slow to move, we recommend you try the MR/Twin Stabilizer! As usual, he caught waves like a demon, and I caught 38 waves in 3 hours, and went home feeling quite exhausted! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI61zaABLs4 This time I thought about it again, "SHONAN The WARRIOR can turn even crappy waves that are 10-15 points into waves that are 30 points or higher, so even if you don't have to fight hard at the peak of the good waves, you can have a lot of fun at the peak of the bad waves when there aren't many people around. This is a model that is especially recommended for people who always surf at crowded spots! Learn moreBreaking news! The user-friendly performance model "Rad Ripper" "Light Speed" has arrived at Love Surf!
The latest LOST EPS technology {LIGHT SPEED} from the so-called cheating board "RAD RIPPER," which is still rarely stocked in stores, has arrived at Love Surf! There are videos of many surfers riding the RAD RIPPER, so I'm sure you've seen them, but the incredibly light and dazzlingly bluish-white LIGHT SPEED is so impressive that you'll be amazed when you actually hold it outside. Carbon is placed instead of stringers on the deck and bottom surfaces of the stringerless EPS foam, ensuring smooth flexibility from the tip of the nose to the tail end on the bottom surface, and from the nose end to the tail end on the deck surface! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5XtV4quQD0 The RAD RIPPER is not a model designed for surfing special reef breaks overseas, but rather a cool and fun performance model that will make it easier and more enjoyable to perform at the irregularly breaking beach breaks that many surfers who read this blog regularly surf. Since I bought it myself, I've become more and more addicted to it, and it's now one of my favorite bottles that I always keep in my car when I go to the beach! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29TiUhLOM5w The RAD RIPPER is a highly recommended model that you should definitely try out, and is made of EPS material, which is a combination of 80's design and the latest design, which is possible only because MAYHEM has over 25 years of experience and proven track record as a shaper. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEI9g--0SQU The {LIGHT SPEED} is extremely light and responds quickly to the rider's intentions, so it is trusted by professional riders and has won competitions not only in Japan but also overseas! Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the next shipment date is still undecided. If you're looking to have fun surfing with the RAD RIPPER {LIGHT SPEED} during the peak season, don't miss this new arrival! Click here to find out more about RAD RIPPER!
Learn moreLOST's first mid-length board, the SMOOTH OPRATOR, is perfect for surfers of all levels and is now available in all sizes!
Once in stock, they sell out. The popular model "SMOOTH OPERATOR" keeps on selling out after arriving, and now all sizes of this MADE IN JAPAN QUALITY model are available! Since it doesn't require much paddling strength, even female surfers and male surfers who aren't confident in their paddling strength can ride the waves smoothly all the way to the inside without getting tired. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9_FJNX4qUU The SMOOTH OPERATOR allows intermediate and advanced surfers to ride smoothly and with style, while also producing intense lip action like a shortboard. The SMOOTH OPERATOR uses a special form that uses tapered stringers that gradually become thinner from the nose to the tail. The nose area with its thick stringers has excellent strength and acceleration performance, and you can feel the speed you gain from paddling or your front foot being converted into forward momentum. The stringer tapers towards the tail, so when you step on the tail, it flexes naturally and rotates smoothly even on the long ``SMOOTH OPERATOR''. The SMOOTH OPERATOR, which is capable of performing like the MAYHEM, is one of the reasons for its popularity because, unlike other brands' mid-length boards, it is a model that is capable of the lip action that is characteristic of LOST! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MUO48wMUV0 It's also great to enjoy high-performance surfing in small conditions on the SMOOTH OPRATOR, just like professional surfer Arashi Murata! Learn moreWith LOST Surfboard USA custom orders, you can even order painting by MAYHEM's daughter, Ryder!
The power of a 15-year-old behind your favorite LOST surfboard. 15-year-old Ryder Biolos has a very enviable job. As the daughter of Matt Biolos of Lost Surfboards, it was inevitable that Ryder Biolos would pursue a career in surfing, riding a lower, white quiver. While Ryder certainly surfs, she has also forged her own path and become a surfboard artist. As children, Ryder and her siblings spent a lot of time at the Lost surfboard factory, messing around with the foam blanks and paints that the employees cut. While her brothers simply enjoyed painting boards, Ryder ” loved the paint and discovered she had a natural talent for it. "I think I just had a knack for it," Ryder says, adding, "My dad is really good at art and my mom is really into design, so I got the creative design part and the actual artistic part from both of them." Biolos (rider) visited the shop regularly, experimenting with different paint colors and designs and began to develop her own style. With the guidance of Lost surfboards' main artists, Terry Shin and Drew Brophy, Biolos (rider) quickly got the hang of it and her skills developed rapidly. At age 6, Bioros (Rider) painted her first realistic painting, which ended up being used by Coco Ho. By age 9, Biolos (the rider) was a paid employee, regularly painting boards for Lost's team riders. "I'm excited that Ryder has become an artist to do her own art for Lost surfboards," says Coco, "and because she's known most of us since we were babies, I feel like there's a personal connection to the art she chooses for everyone and every quiver. A special one was last year's winter quiver; she copied some of the art her dad's uncle Derek had done for his gym, and then Mason and I created a replica in honor of Uncle D on her winter quiver." "Ryder has been one of my favorite artists since I was six years old," says Mason Ho. "When she first painted my board, I was amazed because I knew she had her own artistic style. I tried to copy it, and I tried to get other people to do it, but it just didn't look the same. So now she does almost all of my boards. She's my favorite." Bioros (the rider) attends an online charter school, so her schedule is very flexible. She works in the shop three to four days a week and has found a routine. When she arrives, she checks the orders and talks with the surfers about what they want in their boards. Sometimes they have a specific request, and sometimes they just leave it up to her. Once Ryder has an idea, she draws, tapes, and mixes colors to create the design, then begins painting. While artists like Brophy prefer to paint directly onto the glass, Ryder prefers to paint directly onto the foam. Each board can take anywhere from 30 minutes to six hours, depending on the complexity of the design. "A lot of surfboard painters have a free and loose style," Ryder says, "but mine is very special. It's a style where everything has to be perfect. Perfectly imperfect." Ryder is a self-proclaimed perfectionist, but she's made her fair share of mistakes over the years. While she tries to pay attention to detail, she sometimes gets confused and accidentally swaps orders. Luckily, she's good at correcting her mistakes. “My father taught me that there is always a way to fix a mistake,” Ryder says. “If you mess up somewhere, you can add something or change the way the design was originally done. At just 15 years old, Ryder's resume is incredibly impressive. She's painted boards for four-time World Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Carissa Moore, two-time World Champion Tyler Wright, Olympians Caroline Marks and Kolohe Andino, WSL Junior Champion Kirra Pinkerton, EAST pilots Mason and Coco Ho, Erin Brooks, Sopia Medina, Noah Beshen, and Olympic Skateboarding Bronze Medalist Sky Brown. Take a moment to consider the absurd amount of talent included in that list. Ryder enjoys working with all surfers equally, but of the more than 500 boards she has completed over the years, a few stand out as her personal favorites. She is proud of her recent Sakura board series with Kirra Pinkerton. She is also a big fan of the tie-dye line she created for Mason Ho and the Mandalorian boards she painted for her brother. While Ryder prefers spending her time backstage, she also travels the world with her family and surfs mostly on surf trips or with friends. When she's not in the ocean or at the shop, she's usually found grabbing her skis or snowboard and heading to the local mountains whenever possible. Ryder took some art classes in elementary school, but her work is primarily the result of the tutelage of Brophy and her father. She was inspired by their game and has learned so much from them over the years. "Working with my dad is both fun and challenging," Ryder says. "He tells me the truth. If I mess up, he's not afraid to admit it and laugh about it. As for the future, I just accept things as they come." Her current projects are Catch surf and snowboarding. She plans to continue working for her father, but in the long term she hopes to pursue some kind of design, architecture, or graphic design career. But for now, she's happy to have her in the California surf community. *LOST Surfboard USA custom orders include: You can also order paint for your "Rider"!
Learn moreThe two gold medal-winning surfboards were designed in two factories, 15 meters apart.
The two surfboards that won gold medals at the Olympics Only 15 meters apart in San Clemente, California. The boards are designed in two factories. Nishii wrote something interesting in the following STAB article, so I translated it and would like to share some excerpts with you. https://stabmag.com/features/the-two-olympic-winning-surfboards-were-designed-50-feet-away-from-each-other/ Timmy Patterson and Matt Biolos talk about the Olympic business boom and more. It was no surprise when Italo Ferreira and Carissa Moore became surfing's first ever Olympic gold medalists. After all, they are the annual World Champions on the WSL Tour. It's no surprise that Italo and Carissa's Olympic Gold Medal boards were both designed in San Clemente, California. The waves at Lower Trestles are exactly what the currently popular WAVE pools are aiming for. Lower Trestles is the perfect test course for your surfboard. The Lower Trestles wave, which will determine the WSL's 2021 World Champion, has bred world-class surfers and It attracts world-class surfers and produces sophisticated surfboards. Those things help explain why Timmy Patterson and Matt Biolos are two of the best shapers in the world. "Timmy and I have worked in factories across from each other, 50 feet apart, in San Clemente for many years," Matt laughs. "And Lower is the most important location to our success. Throughout our career, the best surfers in the world have passed through our town, San Clemente, looking for a good surfboard. Just like real estate, it's all about location, location, location (laughs). The Rowers are huge. Absolutely. It's an unfair advantage." We spoke to Matt and Timmy (separately) about the formation of the Olympics, what the exposure means for their businesses, and more. Matt: In the early rounds, when it was small, Carissa was riding this second-to-last board we made. We had been watching the camera [in Japan] for six weeks, and I had already built some extremely small boards for Kolohe. He was taking them to Doheny and finding the smallest waves he could. I told Carissa: "It's going to be one-footed, and I don't want to see you lose to these girls who are 25 pounds lighter doing check snaps." So I made her a couple of boards, 5'8" x 19 1/8" x 2 1/2" thick, called Lightspeed epoxy. I took them to Honolulu two days before she left; that board was 27.5 liters; her normal is 26 liters. It was a beast. But she looked great on it in the early rounds. When the waves got big, she was on a brand new copy of a Magic Solid Wave board. It's a pintail, 5'10" x 18.56" x 2 3/8". It's basically a Driver 2.0. We call it a Step Driver. It's an inch bigger than her regular board, and she was able to go out there, make a couple of solid turns, and slam the end section shut. She did what she had to do in some really tough conditions. watching their surfers win gold medals Matt: Oh, that was awesome. It's an accomplishment. But I wouldn't put it above a world title, just because of the versatility and the amount of work it takes to do it. If you separate it and look at it as a comp, it wasn't as difficult for Carissa as a normal CT event, because half the best girls couldn't get in. If you look at Stephanie [Gilmore], Sally [Fitzgibbons], and our girl Caroline [Marks], they kind of buckled down. They lost to inferior surfers in heats they should have won. They didn't make it to the big stage. That's what's most impressive: Carissa was supposed to do it, and she did it. And now people are going to talk about it. Carissa is perfect. They couldn't have asked for a better person. She's the best female surfer in the world and the perfect representative for surfing. I'm proud of her. I'm glad I did my job and made sure she had the board she needed. What Olympic Gold Means for Business Matt: That's hard to say. The broadcast was worse than the NSSA student event. They blackmailed the entire core surfing community by getting us to sign up and pay for cable TV providers. I don't even know why they flew Joe Turpel and Mike Parsons to New York—that broadcast was nowhere to be seen. They planned to broadcast the surfing on the main NBC program but never did. That's something they need to understand. For example, why run the entire medal round in the afternoon in Japan with huge storm surf? The timing was terrible for the American audience. And the next morning was perfect, glassy, offshore, chest-pounding waves. It's great to see Carissa getting attention now, but I'm not sure the attention is on the actual broadcast. They also took down two of my posts about Carissa on Instagram. I stayed up late trying to post the medal ceremony—I filmed it on my phone and tried to post it on my personal account, but it blocked me. There's nowhere on earth you can watch that medal ceremony. They won't let anyone post the medal ceremony, but they won't post it either. The reason why LOST surfboards perform so well is because they are able to be tested daily on the waves at LOWERS. As MAYHEM states in their article, the reason why LOST boards are fast and move freely is because This is because of the location advantage of being able to freely test out the waves at LOWERS!
