▪️Check out the explanatory video by LOST's "UBER DRIVER" designer, "MAYHEM"! Based on the hugely popular "DRIVER" and "SUB-DRIVER" models, we designed a model specifically for small waves. The overall concept is the same as the "DRIVER" and "SUB-DRIVER", but with a hybrid outline mixed in. We call this design the Ripper's Hybrid. Because it's a hybrid, it has a wide nose and a slightly flat rocker. However, from the middle to the back it has the same design as the "SUB-DRIVER." The tail width is wide, and a combination of a bump and wide tail block creates a slightly flat tail rocker and spiral VEE, so from the center to the back it's a "SUB-DRIVER." From the center forward, it has a gentle rocker and a wide outline, similar to the Short Round and Rocket. This gentle nose rocker makes it easy to catch the wave with an easy paddle, allows for a fast takeoff, and helps you cut through your line quickly. It's a good idea to make it 2 to 4 inches shorter than normal, meaning 4 inches shorter than the "DRIVER" or 2 to 3 inches shorter than the "SUB-DRIVER", and add a little width. It's basically a special board for small waves, designed for surfers who ride the "DRIVER" or "SUB-DRIVER" to be able to ride in smaller waves with the same lip. The tip of the nose of the "SUB DRIVER" was cut and the outline was redesigned, resulting in a wide outline and gentle rocker that makes it extremely easy to ride. It's a special model sold exclusively in Japan, which we've been focusing on for the past few years. Of course, there are some design changes, It inherits some of the features of the previous DIABLO series. For example, by making the nose area wider, it allows for easier paddling and quicker take-off, allowing you to catch waves and turn with more drive. However, because the design tapers towards the tip of the nose, it can be called a shortboard rather than a fishboard. The areas that are important for paddling are wide, and the grab rails make it easier to dolphin and control the boat. The outline is wide up to the hind legs, then narrows from the wings to the super swallowtail. The combination of this sharp wing and super swallow tail provides high control and sharp turns. It also features a unique elevator wing design. This elevator wing makes it easy to make sharp turns in the wave pocket, even on a wide board with no rocker. This means you can gain speed when riding on the face of the wave, and when you push the tail, it turns easily. The elevator wing also creates rail rocker, making it easy to initiate a turn. This latest version, DIABLO-X , has been improved based on feedback from many Japanese surfers. The rails of the DIABLO-X have a new design that is thinner from nose to tail than previous series, but still leaves enough buoyancy around the center of the deck area, meaning that even Japanese surfers who are small and don't have much leg strength can surf with a good rail. The combination of these designs allows for effortless paddling, easy wave catching, and speed even in small waves. It's a Japan-only model designed for the small waves in Japan. It's perfect for surfers who are busy with work and can only surf a few times a month or on weekends, or who, like me, have gotten fatter or older and their movements have slowed down, but don't want to ride a longboard-like board; they want to enjoy turns on a shortboard and feel the feel of a high-performance board. That requires thickness, but the Goblin-Sprint is thick, has a gentle rocker, and is wide, so it has enough buoyancy to easily paddle in small waves. Even wearing a thick wetsuit in the middle of winter in cold water is no problem. This model is available in two construction options.
