Mark Richards, aka MR, and Mayhem from Lost, in one shaping room. Sharing and integrating designs! Collaboratively shaping and completing the friendly TWIN FISH + Tralier board for small waves! The CA Twin is Mark Richards' (MR) most popular new shortboard model. Based on the Super Twin, it's a Twin Fish + Tralier board with the latest single-to-double concave and twin + trailer fins. With Mark's permission, we've given his iconic Super Twin model a modern update, making it incredibly approachable and ready to be your small wave secret weapon. We loosened the entry rocker, widened the nose and tail blocks, and added a few inches to the overall outline to make it wider. These adjustments help it glide even in weaker waves. The deck is flatter for stability, but it still has the soft rails needed for the MR's classic speed performance and its state-of-the-art performance tail rocker. It retains the original Super Twin's precise, true-to-turn specifications. The California Twin is a smooth and easy-going MR design, but thanks to the collaboration with MAYHEM design, it can also handle risqué lips and turns in tight spots. It also features a logo mark and rail color that inherits the classic color theme of the MR design. MARK RICHARDS and MATT BIOLOS have come together to bring you the latest TWIN FISH + Tralier board with some unique tweaks to create the latest MR x MAYHEM fish board. The result is a small wave performance fishboard that combines the classic lines, speed, and precise turns of the MR with the lip-to-air capabilities of the MAYHEM. The fiberglass and hex core construction makes it lightweight and provides just the right amount of flex, making it ideal for average Japanese surf. The PLACEBO "LAYZ POTATO-REDUX" DURA FLEX was created when MAYHEM and Nishii looked back through all of PLACEBO's past surfboard models to select the No. 1, and both agreed that this was the REDUX model. MAYHEM has recreated the old LAYZ POTATO model, which served as the base model, by adding the latest updates to the shape design to create a modern version that surpasses the performance of the old model. The outline design has been refined from nose to tail. A long straight section in the center improves driving performance. The tail shape has been changed from a squash tail to a swallow tail to make it easier to change turns and improve control performance. The rails are soft and thin to allow the wide board to move easily. The bottom shape is a combination of double concave and VEE. The double concave that starts from the nose and reaches its maximum depth in the fin area, which is unique to this model, provides excellent surface planing and maneuverability in small and powerless waves, and the VEE section in the tail end fin area makes it easy to control in a back stance. The flat center rocker is generous for speed. It is equipped with a dolphin grab rail, which is a great design that makes it easy to dolphin through.
