XTR-specific deck grip?
I received an interesting message from Habiyar, the owner of Epoxy Pro, the company that makes XTR boards. It seems that Habiyar is currently developing a deck grip specifically for XTR boards. He sent me a photo of the sample that was ready. The reason why this deck grip is made specifically for XTR is that it is designed to be cut so that it can be attached around the small holes in the vent system that are drilled into XTR boards. And what Habiyar is most particular about is that there is a notch in the kick part, which allows the water flowing over the deck grip to hit the kick part, preventing resistance - a world-first idea. This is a product that Javier, who is also an active top AM competitor, is passionate about, so we are looking forward to its release. This photo is of Javier.
Learn morePainted with RNF-Q EPS/MARKO.
The weather was nice today, so I tried painting the RNF-Q EPS/MARKO that just arrived from CALFORNIA the other day. I've uploaded some photos of the process. First, the stringer and Mayhem marks, as well as the bottom, are masked off to prevent the color from getting on them since they are clear. After that, the deck parts that need to be sprayed with gray color, which will become the base, are painted solid. At this point, a sticker is applied to the Precevo mark, and then masked off from above. To paint the rails black, the area other than the rails is masked off, and then the stripe design is masked and painted to finish it off. Then I stuck on some stickers and it was done! I wonder if the first ride will be tomorrow? Furthermore, EPS FCS boards have strong EPS foam embedded in the fin cup area for reinforcement, as shown here. I see, this way the fin cup part will be strong even though it is made of soft EPS foam. Today, Mr. H from Yokohama purchased the 5'10" in the AVISO limited edition color. He will be taking the flight tomorrow during his Golden Week holiday. Thank you for your time today, Mr. H.

Learn moreI rode the Nishii SD3!
Here you go. The Nishii Personal SD3 finally arrived, so I immediately painted it myself and took it for my first ride. This time, I simply painted the rails black afterwards. At first glance, they look like they're just black rails, but if you look closely, you'll see that purple is hidden underneath, and it pops out beautifully in the evening. It's an elaborately crafted rail color. It may be hard to see in this photo, but if you look closely you can see it a little. Starting today, for customers who purchase a stock board by Golden Week on May 6th, We'll paint it in the same color for free! It will be completed in 2 days, so you can ride it right away! (Clear board only) The size is SD3 5'10" x 17 7/8" x 2" UL-on fin EPS/MARKO. This time, it's Precebo/Mayhem spec. Then, on the afternoon of the 24th, I took my first ride at J'S Point in southern Chiba. The conditions were too good for testing, with flat waves, overhead waves and tubes. As expected, the ON fins feel just right for this type of performance board, and it ended up being a very good first ride. I'll be riding it more and sharing my impressions, so please look forward to it. Okada from J'S was also surfing and said, "The waves aren't that great," but to me they were really good. The left set wave that Okada gave me was the best wave, because I did five backside rip turns. Thank you for stopping by today!
Learn moreTo Lost Hamamatsu store and G-SLASH,
I visited Lost Hamamatsu store and G-SLASH. The owner is Kenya Nomata, CEO of Crossing Wetsuits, the owner of G-SLASH, a store in Hamamatsu that attracts core surfers and has been a Lost retailer for over 10 years, and whose rider is Matt Archibald. There were waves, so we headed to Goto P, right in front of the shop, put up a sign (a sure sign of a great surf shop!) and headed out to surf. Nomata-san, as you'd expect from the owner of Lost Dealer, was already riding a QUAD board! He was riding it well. His wife, Tomoko, took some photos, so please take a look. Tomoko's photography skills are on par with those of a professional. All of the surfing photos below are by Tomoko. Masashi, a G-SLASH rider who was with me on the Maldives trip last year, I was surfing. This is what surfing at home is like! As you can see, many club members were having a session at the point. Everyone here is just such a talented person. The session continues like this even after we come out of the water...!
Learn moreI'm in Hamamatsu today.
At the request of Murasaki Sports Hamamatsu store, we held a Presebo test drive event. A large crowd gathered and took a commemorative photo. The waves were like this and we were worried about the wind direction, but once we got out to sea we could enjoy the waves. Looking at the shore from offshore, the view is like this: The name of this point is big breasts... Hmm?? Inside the Hamamatsu store. Isn't that great? There are lots of playthings! If you're looking for surfboards, check out these two. On the right is Amano-san and on the left is Shibata-san. Please take a good look! If you're in a hurry and looking for a 5'8" AC-QUAD, you'll find it here! I found this cute thing in the store.
