Learn moreI went to Balian to take some photos.
Today, we left the hotel at 4am and drove for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. I went to Balian to take some photos. The waves were head high with a set of waves from the main left break. We surfed for about four hours, constantly changing boards. The waves gradually became long walls as we headed towards the high tide at 11am. I also tried out various fins. In the afternoon, we took explanatory photos for the board by the hotel pool and in the garden. We managed to make it in time for sunset, battling the red ants on the grass. Mr. Kato is in charge of the web design that built this site. He will be editing the DVD of this trip. He is helping us with the filming so that the DVD will be packed with content. The second round was a fun surf with Gumiche. The waves here are messy, so RNF, ROCKET, CONQUEST and MONK were all great. We also tested Aurora's new design and color fins. The 4.5 MICRO FIBER FIN comes in a different color. The zebra and stripes are designs added to the Conquest fins. Coming soon as a tri-fin set and a quad set. Stay tuned!! This time, we were accompanied by legendary Balinese surfer Jodie (75kg), a heavy 43-year-old, so all the locals were happy to let us take their photos. He landed two consecutive backside 360s on the backside vertical lip with the Conquest!! Super good!

Learn moreArrived in San Clemente.
Nishii arrived safely in San Clemente, California. My companion on this trip is a rental Toyota 4Runner. Located near the intersection of the 405 Freeway and the 5, this is the Lost Clothing Division office and warehouse. As you'd expect from an international surf brand, it's large and eye-catching. When I checked the lower section, I saw that the contest booths for the WCT tournament starting next week were already set up. We also spotted a Boost Mobile bus nearby! I'm looking forward to watching the WCT! Tomorrow we'll have a trade show report from San Diego!
