      Model explanation

The Driver model has been a staple in LOST Surfboards' high-performance lineup since its introduction in 2011. The Driver's accomplishments and accolades are too numerous to list. Development began in 2011, when Kolohe Andino and Julian Wilson requested a tail with more drive but still some pushback. Julian achieved numerous early successes with the Driver, including a 2012 U.S. Open victory.

The Driver continues to be used at Kolohe for 3-6 foot waves. Carissa Moore primarily rode the Driver during her second and third World Titles. Taylor Wright exclusively rode the Driver during her 2016 World Title.

The DRIVER model has been continuously updated and released over the years, but the basic concept design remains the same. It is designed with ample nose rocker and a balanced gentle tail rocker. As the name suggests, it is designed to be driven, so it is easy to control even during drive turns where pressure is applied to the tail. The DRIVER model is especially recommended for average surfers who rely on their back foot when driving.

The outline is modern and beautifully smooth, with a subtle bump at the hips, and the width of the nose and tail is not too narrow at all. The rails and nose to tail volume are moderate, and the tail has a slight boxy shape.

The DRIVER model features a subtle single concave that increases from the center toward the front fin, coupled with a gentle tail rocker. It blends to flatten out toward the tail. The DRIVER's concave adds lift for a floating, high-speed ride. To counterbalance the straight tail rocker, there's a generous rail rocker curve in the back foot position. This allows for tighter turns.

The DRIVER model is a high-performance board that is easy to handle and friendly for casual surfers. It has been tested by a wide range of surfers, from top-level surfers around the world to casual surfers, and has proven to be a very capable model. We offer the DRIVER model with a squash tail.

The DRIVER model, a representative model of LOST's performance series, is available in two sizes: "PRO Dimension" and "BRO Dimension," which offers more buoyancy for general surfers. Custom orders are available for not only squash tails, but also round, swallow, and round pinstripes.
