Model explanation
An all-around everyday board that can be used both domestically and internationally!
The RETRO TRIPPER has a short, wide design and glides very well. It was designed and developed based on the desire for a board with active, athletic performance like a fish, yet with confident control, so that it can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere, in any wave. We developed the RETRO TRIPPER so that it can be enjoyed whether paddling out at a morning beach break on a trip with punchy, powerful waves, lining up at a close, pumpy point break, or even at your usual mellow surf break.
It has a wide beaked nose, a winged pintail, a mellow retro rocker, and a flat deck. The unique steep downward rails allow the thick board with a flat deck to move easily.

For the RETRO TRIPPER, please set up twin + 1 fin.
It excels in good, powerful, deep, fast and large waves, but the range of waves it is actually used in is wide.
I would recommend this board as a board for everyday surfing.

The RETRO TRIPPER was developed at the beginning of 2021. It was originally developed for me (MAYHEM) to use on the first small wave day of the season at Salina Cruz Strike Mission in March. My first board worked well, but there was room for improvement.

So we made another one for the Mentawai in April. At the same time, inspired by ourselves, we made a few more for our local team riders. STAB Electric Acid called us and we made two for the Ho brothers, glass fins and everything. We got feedback from these early prototypes, and we were hoping for good feedback from El Salvador in July 2021.
Coco Ho and Luke Davis provided some amazing footage from their trip to El Salvador, which gave me confidence that my Retro Tripper design was finally a success.
The design is based on the Retro Ripper, but is significantly shorter (slacker entry rocker), thicker, and wider. The Retro Tripper is similar to our LOST classic Monk Fish-round pin. It's the 5'5" Redux model seen by Cory Lopez at Skeleton Bay in the movie. The flat deck, steeply sloping rails, and wide outline create momentum as well as stability and ease of paddling. The bottom concave is a soft vee at the front, with a slight concave in the middle that gradually blends into two vees at the tail. The curved tail rocker and wings reduce the surface area, combining to reduce the surface area. These elements don't negate the Retro Tripper's considerable volume, but rather create a forgiving and precise ride. It allows for light surfing, high speed, and surfing those important sessions. Whether you throw it in your bag for a trip, paddle out to a punchy local beach break in the morning, or surf it offshore for a lineup at a nearby point break, the Retro Tripper is here to help.

The logo is not bold like the 80s, but rather a stylishly mellow, gold-toned, minimalist logo from the 70s.
