Model explanation
SWORD FISH is exactly what the name suggests.
An aggressive, incredibly fast pelagic fish with a wide, powerful tail and a long, pointed nose, the Swordfish was designed at the request of Kolohe Andino.
This model began when Kolohe Andino, who rides an RNF-RETRO model, asked Mayhem to design something that would allow him to perform more to his liking.
This is a new evolution of his favorite two-color RNF-RETRO. In the small waves at Trestles, Kolohe was more adept at using his two-color neon 5'6" RNF-RETRO than any other surfer I've ever seen surfing any fish board. But he still wasn't satisfied, so he came to me and asked me to create a FISH that was even more to his liking.

Kolohe Andino
"I love this 5'6" RNF-RETRO. It's one of the best FISH boards I've ever owned, but if it had a longer nose instead of a short one, I think I could ride it well in contests. I want a longer FISH board, one that I can pull the nose in and have more length. I want it to be around 5'9". If that's the case, I feel like it will become a more realistic shortboard. Maybe a slightly narrower overall outline would be good, not just a little bit narrower than it is now, but something that gives me more control and drive with my front foot. I want it to be more powerful, a little stiffer, more aggressive, and therefore faster. Something that's ridiculously fast. Everything else is fine as is."

I started the design off of Kolohe's magic 5'6" RNF-RETRO. I stretched and pulled the nose, adding 3 inches of length and some nose rocker. I also narrowed the overall outline a bit. I then pulled the tail a bit, leaving the double-sided "Pelagic" outline. I kept the tail rocker the same, and basically kept the bottom radius the same, but I gave the tail rocker a bit more bounce.
The dimensions are 5'9" 19.25" 2.38" resulting in a small speedboard.
"I absolutely love it. This is probably the best replacement for any board I've ever ridden.
Okay, let's make it into a model." And so we completed the "SWORD FISH" model.

Kolohe Andino's "SWORD FISH" is a fast, aggressive, and powerful predatory "fish." It features a long, pointed nose, a "pelagic" outline on the tail sidecut, a wide fishtail, and intense rocker. Nishii has tested it repeatedly in small waves and reef breaks in Japan, and it's extremely powerful, so he can confidently recommend it!
