DURA-FLEX3
DURA-FLEX3 is an original, eco-friendly new technology that can only be manufactured at the PLACEBO factory. The core of this new composite surfboard, which provides the long-lasting strength and colorfast finish that the PLACEBO brand is known for, is an EPS foam called AEROBLANK. After custom shaping the AEROBLANK EPS foam, three layers of 4+4+6oz are applied to the deck surface, and two layers of 4+6oz cloth are hand-glazed with epoxy resin to the bottom surface.
Both sides of the board feature built-in carbon stringers with tapered carbon fiber, trimming from 20mm at the nose tip to a narrow, pointed 1mm toward the tail end, providing a solid ride feel. The tapered carbon fiber design uses wider carbon fiber in the nose area for stiffer flex, minimizing flex and pushing the nose forward, converting it into speed. The tail area is narrower and more pointed than the nose area for softer flex and improved response. The newly developed "DURA-FLEX3" technology allows riders to gain speed and control the board with agility.
The deck, bottom, rails, and other surfaces are all coated with UV-cut white paint, a long-lasting eco-finish that provides semi-permanent protection from the sun. The elegantly finished black and matte white body boasts the supple, easy-to-ride flex performance of a PLACEBO surfboard, designed with a focus on riding the waves.
