Chucky is getting married next week.
So he's been very busy preparing, but he joined us for the shoot this morning.
Today, the south wind, the enemy of the San Clemente area waves, blew.
We managed to avoid the wind and took some surf photos at Salt Creek.
He said he'll be going to MAYHEM as soon as he finishes work, so he's got a board for Mayhem.
I went down to the beach with my PLACEBO "CONQUEST EL-DIABLO".
The board for this Mayhem is a FLEXLITE-CANDY and is colored, so the size is obvious at a glance: 6'2". Nishii wanted to ride a 5'4" SHORT ROUND , but
Chucky said he wanted to ride it again because he had been riding it the other day and it was great, so
I rode a 5'5" LAYZ-POTATO .
MAYHEM said he couldn't come because he was busy ordering boards from the riders who were coming to the Prime event next week. So I went to the office, and there I found Kolohe's father, Dino Andino, there too.
He also rode his son Kolohe when he won the Australian Open in 2015.
My Magic LOST SUB-BUGGY broke, so I ordered a clone board from Mayhem.
Nishii's father, Dino Andino, was a member of CHP in Chiba, where Nishii was once a member. At the same time, he was a professional rider and would come to Japan to compete together. Later, he would come to Japan as a professional rider for LOST, and Nishii would look after him, so he has known him for a longer period of time than Mayhem. While reminiscing about those days, the three of us came up with a great idea for a new model. The model name is "HUSBAND," as it is a board for older guys that can be ridden by all three of us. We will continue to work on the design and perfect it.
Mayhem has kept last month's issue of Kolohe on the cover of Surfing Life.
He was delighted with the double page spread.
Mayhem saw PLACEBO's "CONQUEST EL-DIABLO" and once again declared that it was a masterpiece. I'll report back tomorrow.
Mayhem, Dino, and their dad came up with a great idea for a new model. The model name is for older guys who can ride it at any age.
