▪️This board, the "Goblin," is a fine-tuned version of the Diablo model, designed for shorter rides. It has the same basic design as the "Super Diablo" shaped board, but because it's a pre-cut board, we were able to implement a split tail, which is prone to breaking on poly boards.
With a rounded, wide board like a funboard, which is designed solely for takeoff, if the surface becomes rough, the paddle becomes slow and you can't dolphin. To prevent this, we've thoroughly tuned and shortened Mayhem's classic Diablo.
It's very wide, has volume in the center, and has a pointed nose, making it easy to paddle and dolphin. It's a model that allows for impressive takeoffs from swells, regardless of wave conditions.
Its short length allows for a tight turning radius, allowing it to maneuver in pockets of waves ranging from knee-high to overhead. Vertical movement is also easy. Even though it's a wide, fat board, even Japanese surfers with weaker legs can easily control it thanks to the "elevator wing" design tradition, a continuation of surfboard design from the tablet, which provides the first reaction when turning up and down, creating a catalyst for transitions between turns.
The specially designed "Split Stealth" tail is proven to be more responsive and responsive than a standard swallow or fishtail, giving you complete control over your board.
Because it is thick and buoyant, it is equipped with a dolphin grab rail to make it easier to sink the board.
The Dolphin Graph Rail also has the effect of significantly reducing physical fatigue when dolphin diving continuously, making a huge difference in fatigue levels, especially when the waves are big.
The smooth takeoff performance is quick and easy, unlike any other board. Standing up earlier and more slowly than anyone else gives you more time for the first turn, taking your surfing to a new level. Even on deep waves, you can take off much further out than other surfers. When other surfers take off, you're already in the upswing. With the Goblin, you're guaranteed to catch more waves and enjoy longer rides. You'll be able to ride great waves from the peak, even in crowded waters and in all conditions. Even if you were worried about riding a shorter board, you'll find it almost completely comfortable.
This is a new, special Japan-only model from MAYHEM that far exceeds the paddle and takeoff performance of the previous model, the FISHQUEST2, which was developed with the same concept, and achieves an excellent performance balance that combines high-speed running with sharp and exhilarating maneuverability.
