In the summer, San Clemente often gets swells from the south.
This is the time of year when you can expect bigger waves than in winter.
The waves were small during my four-week stay due to hurricanes.
It was only for a few days.
On the final day of the US Open, Huntington Beach was flat with some set waves that were barely rideable, but at San Clemente's Trestles, chest-high waves were coming in consistently.
