Byron Bay is a hippie city famous for being the epicenter of Australian hippie culture in the 1970s. Established in 2006, Byron Bay is an alternative fashion and lifestyle brand created by Declan Wise and Jono Salfield, both second-generation hippie-born and raised in the area.
With a theme of Byron Bay's modern day culture and free living attitude, rooted in punk rock, the brand started out by selling original art T-shirts hand-screen printed in the backyard of a home. It quickly became a success in Australia and has now grown into a brand that is available in 15 countries around the world.
Their motto is to "Question Everything," and with their insatiable curiosity and creativity, they have incorporated their everyday lifestyle, which is intertwined with art, music, surf, and street, into textiles, which they offer from Byron Bay as the "Afends way of life."
