This is a riding video of Nishii riding LOST's Japan-only model, the RNF-ULTRA, at a beach break in Chiba.
The board I ride is 5'10" and has a volume of 30cl. When you add the surf length of a regular manufacturer's stock board, the width and thickness numbers also increase, and the volume (CL value) also increases accordingly, but with this RNF-ULTRA model, you can add length without increasing the CL value at all.
This design was developed so that it can be used in small waves as well as in larger waves, allowing those who normally use shorter FISH boards to ride with confidence in larger waves by adding length.
Nishii chooses this board when he wants to wait for waves on the outside more than anyone else in crowded conditions and ride only the best waves.
The RNF-ULTRA model can be ridden well by taking the back stance just like a regular board, with the board behind the side fins and controlled as far back as possible from the tail traction, and riding in a relaxed, wide line.
If you want to move the board quickly, you can step on the tail and rotate it, so this model has good maneuverability considering its length.
