Personally, I think the next model in the series is the "MICKS TAPE" and it's my top pick.
It's been almost two years since I got it through a custom order, but it's still my favorite and the board I use the most.
All of our new stock boards sold out quite some time ago, but we now have some used boards in good condition in stock!
The used "MICKS TAPE" that has just arrived is a special MADE IN VIETNAM "Black Sheep Built" that cannot be produced even with a USA custom order, with the image color blue printed across the entire deck surface!
The blue on the deck surface has been deliberately given a distressed tint in places, with elaborate processing that allows the carbon inside to show through, giving it a vintage look!
The MICKS TAPE is the model that won the No. 1 spot at the Electric Acid Surfboard Test, an event hosted by STAB in the Maldives, where the waves are perfect and everyone envies.
"If the waves are that good, wouldn't a cutting-edge, high-performance model like the DRIVER series be better?"
I think that's what you all might be thinking...
While the performance of a surfboard is clearly evident, MICK'S TAPE has board performance that makes it no surprise that it took first place!
MAYHEM says it's a "high performance model in a small package"!
Before riding the MICKS TAPE, I thought it would be a more edgy surfboard than you would imagine from its appearance, since it's the same surfboard that 3X World Champion Mick Fanning rode to No. 1 on the perfectly sized waves of the Maldives, but I was pleasantly surprised.
It also works well on the irregular beach breaks that most of us Japanese surf!

It's easier to handle than I expected, and very easy to ride regardless of skill level!
But it performs better than I expected!
Of course, it's not a highly refined high-performance model, but it still allows for non-stop, high-speed surfing!
And because it's easy to pick up speed, it's easy to make decisions and feels great!
If you're a fan of hybrid models like the RNF'96 that you want to ride for short distances, then you should definitely try the MICKS TAPE!

I've tried various fins for the MICK'S TAPE Black Sheep Built and found the MR2+1 to be the best, but recently I've changed things up and have also been using the MICK FANNING PC+AirCore/2+1, which I really like.
If you use "MICK'S TAPE", please give it a try!
