MAYHEM and Nishii look back at all past PLACEBO surfboard models and select the No. 1
The two of them agreed, and this board is the REDUX model.
The performance of the original "LAYZ POTATO" model was based on MAYHE, and it has been made to surpass the previous model.
We've recreated it with the latest updates to the shape design and arranged it into a modern version.
The outline design has been refined from nose to tail.
A long straight section in the center improves driving performance.
The tail shape has been changed from a squash tail to a swallow tail to make it easier to change turns.
Control performance has been improved. The rails are soft and thin to allow the wide board to move well.
The bottom shape is a combination of double concave and vee. The concave, designed specifically for this model, starts at the nose and is deepest in the fin area, giving it good surface gliding and launch performance to the left and right, even in small or powerless waves. The vee section in the end fin area of the tail makes it easy to control in a back stance.
The flat center rocker is generous for speed.
It is equipped with a dolphin grab rail, which is a convenient design that makes it easy to dolphin through.
The wide round nose is ideal for small wave second boards and has good paddling performance.
It even allows you to take off from swells before the waves break.
This is a board with good maneuverability that can be ridden in short bursts, but it is also a new design that places great emphasis on drive performance.
It will be unveiled for the first time at Interstyle, which will be held in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture from February 18th to 20th!
