Hello, I'm Kohei, a staff member.
The other day I met up with K, a heavy LOST user, at a surf spot and we had a session.
Contrary to the wave information on the day, there were only a few waves and they were thigh-sized with no shoulders, and there was a miraculous set, so the conditions were not great, with waves barely strong enough to reach the waist.

The board used that day was a LOST "SHORT ROUND II" BLACK DART 5'5" 30cl, so I was just able to choose sets or waves with a slight shoulder and do short rides, but K was cruising along nicely on a LOST "RNF-RETRO" 5'8" 34cl with a beautiful green resin color!

After a while, Mr. K asked me if I wanted to try out the RNF-RETRO, but to be honest, I wasn't really in the mood at the time...
The reason is that my current favorite bike, the RNF-RETRO, is 5'3" and fits me perfectly!
After that, he asked me several times if I wanted to try it out, so I reluctantly lent him my Super Overflow RNF-RETRO 5'8" bike, even though I felt bad for him and thought it would be too big, clunky, and probably not very fun...

I was surprised!
It goes without saying, but the moment I changed surfboards and started paddling I could feel a huge difference.
First of all, the flat deck and considerable overflow make the paddle incredibly stable, and the CL value is just under 6, so you can move forward at speeds you've never experienced before!

Because the paddle speed is fast, it can reliably pick up the power of the waves and take off even in loose waves with no shoulder, which the ``SHORT ROUND II'' could not ride.
What's even more surprising is its athletic performance!
Before riding, I had imagined that with so much overflow, even the RNF-RETRO would definitely not be able to move, but here again, my expectations were greatly exceeded in a good way.
I think the thinness of the rails, which has been reduced even more than the numerical value, and the double side cut in the tail area are probably some of the features of the RNF-RETRO!

From a very fast and relaxed take-off, the wave flies through the soup with speed that is impossible for this wave, and in the shoulder section, you can do a big line and a light rip from the bottom turn, and it never stops, so you almost land!
As soon as I changed boards, I was amazed to see that the number of waves I caught doubled, no, tripled!

According to Mr. K, he was riding the waves that were not normally possible!
My personal impression is that the paddling and take-off performance is unimaginable for a shortboard, and the stability, speed, and flow are all outstanding!
Of course, you lose the light and maneuverable performance of a shortboard, but if you sit firmly on the back, it moves around in a fun way!
To put it in perspective, it's a board that suits the taste of surfers who usually ride shortboards, and although it's 5'8", it seems to have all the good points of a mid-length board condensed into it.

Highly recommended for those who usually ride shortboards and are looking for a mid-length board for small waves or thick waves where shouldering is difficult!
As expected from "MAYHEM"! It's no wonder it's selling not only in Japan but all over the world!
Overflow's ``RNF-RETRO'' has made such a big impact that it has overturned the concept of surfboards up to now.The perfect size is great, but the overflow is also great!
