The calm before the storm!
Kei Kobayashi wins the last WSL/QS event of 2020
We are training hard until the tour resumes in 2021!

Do you all know?
"Kei Kobayashi" is a professional surfer who won the last WSL/QS event of 2020.

That was Ron Jon Quicksilver's first QS victory on March 15th in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Then the pandemic hit the world and the WSL decided to postpone all events until March.
The postponement was eventually extended until June, and then in July, the WSL announced the cancellation of all 2020 events.

Winning Kei Kobayashi's first QS contest of 2020 and then having to stay home without a jersey might seem like torture, but he's happy about the situation because he's figured out how to get momentum going for his 2021 return.

"In a way, I'm having a really great time because I haven't been home in a long time," Kay said.
"I've been on tour for the last three or four years and it's been non-stop, so being home with my family is calming."

"I think I deserve to join the world tour," he said.
He is now using this time to train hard to be ready when the QS Tour returns.

"I'm actually working harder than I ever have before and training harder than I ever did when I was surfing," he says. Now that he's off the tour, he's enjoying time with his family and sleeping in his own bed, but when the QS Tour returns, he's devoting all his time to practice and training.
