The Made In Japan "SMOOTH OPERATOR" also uses special blanks made with ARCTIC's "Taper Stringer," which is also used in the California-made "SMOOTH OPERATOR."
This "tapered stringer" starts at 6mm in the nose area and gradually becomes thinner towards the tail area.
The nose area has a thick stringer that provides excellent strength and acceleration, allowing you to feel the speed gained from paddling or your front foot being converted into forward momentum.The strings in the tail area become thinner, so when you step on the tail, it flexes to create rotational performance, improving control, which is an important point.
The SMOOTH OPERATOR is long, so it can catch waves from the outside that a short board wouldn't be able to catch, and it continues to accelerate after taking off, allowing you to ride out the wave to the very end.
