The C4 took more than two years of development and testing. Cork is natural and fully renewable. Furthermore, cork is able to maintain its performance over time. The result is a durable, lightweight, and high-performance surfboard construction. The C4 has a 1.5mm cork covering the entire deck. The EPS foam core is lightweight at 1.5lb. The cork in the deck acts as a shock absorber and also dramatically increases its strength. We created a structure that is durable yet lightweight. Cork is a renewable and sustainable material that grows in nature and can be harvested repeatedly from living trees. Cork bark can be "harvested" periodically with no adverse effects on the tree. Cork is the only truly renewable, naturally occurring material currently used in surfboard construction. Cork is a natural absorbent material that provides a smooth ride. The cork settles with your movements, reducing surface ripples and providing a comfortable, suspended ride. The cork deck acts as a suspension system in windy, big waves and a variety of conditions.
