Learn moreHere are my impressions! I took a test drive of the popular model "RAD RIPPER"!
Hello, I'm Kohei, a staff member. I recently test drove the latest model, the RAD RIPPER , which boasts the world's No. 1 sales, so I'd like to share my impressions right away. By the way, I weigh 64kg and the RAD RIPPER is a 5'8 ready-made size made in Japan, and the fins are tri-fins, ACCELERATOR M size. It's NEO GLASS ! The first time, we went to Onjuku Fishing Port. There was a forecast for a strong northeasterly wind that day, so we weren't expecting much, but the size of the fish was from chestnut to fin, and there were not many people, the terrain was clear, and the conditions were pretty good. Getting out of "Rad Ripper" was super easy! Perhaps the ``beak nose'' gives volume to the nose area, and the ``semi-flat deck'' gives stability, so every stroke is transmitted to the surfboard without any waste, allowing for smooth movement. What kind of takeoff are you all interested in? It was very fast, which is to be expected since the paddle performance is very good! The "wide squash tail" firmly grips the waves and is very stable, so I was able to take off without any problems even on waves that were just starting to break, and I was able to get through the soup at incredible speed, taking me to a position with a shoulder. (The image above is of course Korohe.) However, in terms of the all-important athletic performance, I usually love short surfboards and rarely ride standard shortboards, so perhaps because I placed my feet in a bad position relative to the surfboard, and also because the surfboard was large, I felt sluggish and wondered if I should have gone down one size. However, it was offshore and the rain was heavy that day, but as I mentioned earlier, the waves were very good so we still had a lot of fun! And what surprised me was the second time I took a test drive! That day, I went in at Chitose Point, and the waves were weak, ranging in size from waist to back, with occasional sets up to chest height. As I went from the first section to the middle section, the shoulder disappeared, and if I continued riding well, the shoulder became firm on the inside, making for conditions that allowed for a fairly long ride. I was worried about the image I had during the first test ride and the injury to my arm from the previous time, so I had difficulty turning my right arm, so I didn't have high hopes and changed from a try to a quad setting this time and got in the water... It exploded! Since it was my second test ride, I was able to understand my body position in relation to the surfboard and was able to paddle faster than last time.Even when the surfers around me were unable to ride the waves, I was able to catch the power of the wave by simply paddling lightly while protecting my right arm, and the surfboard started to move smoothly and I was able to take off. (The video above is of course Korohe.) Even after takeoff, I could feel the effect of the quad and the position of my feet in relation to the surfboard, and although it wasn't as sluggish as the first time and felt a bit loose, the "strap retro rails" from the "semi-flat deck" came into play and it responded quickly, completely erasing the impression I had from the last time. I think the people who were at the same spot that day were probably wondering what was going on. (I actually felt a lot of stares.) How is it that he can catch so many waves even though he's just riding a regular shortboard?! As for why I, an ordinary person, can catch so many waves... The answer is simple! That's because you're riding a surfboard made by MAYHEM in the right size! That's it! The RAD RIPPER that I got to test ride this time is very user-friendly and goes beyond the realm of a shortboard - a so-called cheating board, with excellent paddle and take-off performance and stability, making it ideal for beginners to intermediate surfers looking to step up their game, and for advanced surfers it's a model that allows for comfortable, stress-free surfing even in rough wave conditions! Highly recommended for beginners to intermediate surfers who are struggling to improve their surfing, or for those who want to surf comfortably but don't want to ride a board with a rounded nose! We are also currently accepting inquiries regarding the appropriate size of the "RAD RIPPER"! This is a very popular model, so many sizes are selling out. If you want to be sure to get your hands on one before summer vacation, we recommend making a reservation! For more detailed model information, click here!
