Mason Ho talks about the LOST "VOODOO CHILD" board in this video!
This is "Voodoo Child" I wanted a board like the ones they used in contests in the 80s. I took it over to the present day To be able to walk from nose to tail Clever, attractive and cool beak nose No one has a design like this The beak design is barely visible. The next big feature is the thickness of the board center. This part has sufficient buoyancy. The concave design is so good that it shoots like a floatplane when you start paddling. I love the concave on this bottom My dad (Michael Ho) always loved riding concaves like this, and I saw him do it when I was a kid. So I knew this was the best concave design. There are gently wavy bumps on the tail of the deck. It's not a mistake, this is good It's called a double concave deck It fits naturally to the soles of your feet, It helps with the grip This is a great design especially for me as I don't use a deck pad. It fits snugly to your feet and grips from the moment you take off. The smoothly trimmed tail design is also great. I haven't seen such an old school tail design lately. This part is thin, and it continues up to here, Everyone will love it These old school designs are not drastic, It's actually very calculated. My regular shortboard is 5'9", but this Voodoo Child is 5'8", so it's more for small waves. From super small waves to 6 feet, 8 feet, can you ride even 12 feet on the wave face? Now you can catch waves even from the second reef at Pipe. I actually rode a 10-foot Sunset. That said, Voodoo Child is great, especially in small waves. Kolohe Andino recently celebrated his 23rd birthday. He was ranked 5th in the WSL rankings last year, and is expected to climb even higher this year.
