The reason WCT players want it is because it is constantly being developed and evolving.
All photos by Hayato Masuda This morning, I went to invite Mayhem to go surfing, but he had just woken up and had messy hair. He was shaping. Mayhem really loves shaping. The Mayhem family is within walking distance of the LOST surfboard factory. It is located just a few minutes' drive from LOWERS. There is no wind today and the waves are beautiful with an oily face. It's the perfect wave to test your board. Kei brought two boards. We are replacing FCSII fins with one touch, which can be replaced without tools or screws. Nishii was in charge of the video camera to film the two of them. The board Kei is riding is the "V2-SB." You can see a small mark in the center of his stance. MAYHEM was riding the test board again today. When we returned to the factory, we immediately incorporated today's feedback into a new design. The blanks cut by the AKU machine are Nishii recorded the process on video as he began shaping the blank. Every time a board is ridden, it is returned to the factory immediately, allowing for immediate design updates. Whether LOST surfboards are doing well and WCT surfers want them remains to be seen. This is because it is constantly being developed and evolving. Mayhem will be heading out to Santa Cruz for business starting tomorrow. Posted by Luvsurf .

All photos by Hayato Masuda This is a morning wave at LOWERS. It's a high tide and the break is closer to the shore, but it's a beautiful wave. Since it was free, I invited Mayhem to go surfing. We went to the LOST surfboard factory, and Kolohe's dad, Dino Andino has arrived. I'm waiting for the Kolohe board that Mayhem is shaping to be completed. Once it's finished, he takes it straight to the glass factory and has them quickly make the boards. He's a devoted father. It's a SUB-DRIVER round tail. Mayhem has been watching Kolohe since he was born. I'm working with Dino to shape boards with the goal of making him a world champion. Mayhem has finally reached a point where they can finish Kolohe's board. It's mayhem surf time at LOWERS, close to the factory. When we went down to the beach, SHAW&KEI's father, MASAKI, was flying high and catching some great waves. Since it was empty, Mayhem was able to catch a lot of good waves in a short amount of time. The waves here have long shoulders and open faces, making them ideal for testing the performance of your board. For lunch, we went to Mayhem's favorite sushi restaurant. This is an exchange of information between Japan and the US about the state of the surf industry in Japan and events in the US surf industry. LOST will be releasing new surf goods in spring 2014, so stay tuned! When I returned to the factory, I immediately started working on the blanks, which had an improved outline of the board I had just been riding. Cut with an AKU machine, The results of the test ride were immediately reflected in the board design. We have adjusted the thickness of each part of the board, the tail rocker, and the maximum position of the outline. At this rate, Mayhem is constantly iterating on the design, little by little, to make the board better. Posted by Luvsurf .
Learn moreI had a photoshoot with Mayhem and LOST riders on San Clemente's T-Street.
Today I had a photo session with Mayhem and LOST riders on San Clemente's T-Street. In the early morning, three schools were doing morning surfing practice, so there were about 200 kids surfers. Once that's over, it's adult time. This is the first time I've seen Taylor Wright surfing here on T-Street. He's FCSII. Chris Ward was the first to arrive. I brought the boards I had shaped for Julian Wilson out of the factory and tested them. Luke Davis now has purple and pink dyed hair and is instantly recognizable. A cool carving turn by Luke, a member of the LOST surfboards team and REEF's signature rider. Mayhem was also losing to the pros and lipping out a lot. Taylor Wright came from Australia to see Mayhem build the board and actually ride it. Apparently he's staying there to make a serious request. Taylor Wright, who had his V2-SB shaped by Mayhem, said he preferred the regular SUB-DRIVER. She is a surfer who rides with a narrow stance and a back stance, so she chose a SUB-DRIVER with a wide tail. Mayhem said that the design would match better. This is Mayhem, Dino Andino (Kolohe's father) Nishii and the 40-something generation of men, Today, the surfers who were riding boards with less rocker and more buoyancy than the pros were more likely to be in the water. We caught a lot of waves, how about FCSII? Do you like it? Here are some photos from today's session and during our discussion about boards. Posted by Luvsurf .

Luvsurf TV:LOST MAYHEM 『V2-SB』 Julian Wilson Rider: Julian Wilson Board used: LOST MAYHEM 『V2-SB』 FILM: Koji Nishii EDIT: TABRIGADE FILM The board that Julian was riding at the 2013 US-OPEN was not the usual DRIVER model, This new model, called the "V2-SB," was issued by Mayhem in 2013 to WCT and WQS competitors and many other team riders. It was perfected through extensive testing and adjustments from contests and free surfing. This is a noteworthy new model that is scheduled for official release in 2014. The flat rocker curve of ROCKET, known as the Devil's Rocker, For competitors who prefer a point nose, This model was designed by Mayhem to work on high performance boards. The characteristics of this board are the wave quality that breaks slowly and The waves are thick and the terrain is bad, so the board stalls when trying to ride to the inside. This model was designed with an emphasis on being able to ride at high speeds in sections, This is our top recommended high-performance model for 2014, with a design that is well suited to the wave conditions in Japan. What I want everyone to emulate in Julian W's riding is the "backside bottom turn posture." The posture is to spread both hands wide and put weight deeply on the board so as not to lose balance, This is a position that allows you to lower your riding posture while bottom turning by "keeping your left hand in contact with the bottom surface" with each bottom turn. If you can make a backside turn while being conscious of keeping your left hand on the wave surface, your turns will become more stable. This will allow you to make extended turns towards the top! Now, let's take a look at J.W.'s riding on the V2-SB. [vimeo]https://vimeo.com/77893383[/vimeo] Posted by Luvsurf .

Luvsurf TV: LOST MAYHEM 『V2-SB』Carissa Moore Rider: Carissa Moore Board used: LOST MAYHEM 『V2-SB』 FILM: Koji Nishii EDIT: TABRIGADE FILM In 2014, we decided to release a new model, the "V2-Short Board." Carissa Moore, who won the 2013 US-OPEN, This is a compilation of the riding up to the final heat. As I mentioned in the previous Alejo riding video, This is a new model from MAYHEM designed for high performance in thick waves. Many team riders have already ridden it and have provided feedback from test rides. Mayhem has been tuned up and is achieving unprecedented results in major competitions. The board design of the "V2-SB" can be summed up in one word: It has little rocker, but the outline is that of a shortboard with a pointed nose. The waves at Huntington Beach (HB) require you to hit the board and ride all the way to the inside, The design of this V2-SB matches perfectly, and like Alejo, Carissa also made a good board choice. It is said that he won. By the way, the technique of hitting the board and riding the waves is called a "Hundington Hop" in English. Now, check out this video of the 2013 World Champion riding the V2-SB. [vimeo]https://vimeo.com/77889983[/vimeo] Posted by Luvsurf .
